Would you date an ex-prostitute/escort/hooker?

Okay, so I am very interested in prostitutes and peoples views on them, both male and female. I am not a prostitute. If you met a person and you were looking to further a relationship, but their past involved prostitution or escorting, what would you do? I am suggesting the potential partner was open with you about their past, I'm not talking about you finding out their secret by accident. Also, what are your general thoughts on that profession?

  • I'm answering anonymously, because people on this forum are usually young conservative types especially when it comes to sex.

    I use hookers now and again. I've great respect for what they do. It's a much maligned industry that prudes will never accept. But as far as I am concerned, it's a job, they work hard for their money, and they're just as deserving of a decent guy and a relationship (when they want one) as any other woman out there. It wouldn't bother me to date an ex-hooker.

    I think the guys who are obsessed with dating virgins are simply terrified of being compared to past lovers. (A fear that would be even worse if she was a hooker who had many many past lovers.) And that's not me.

  • If I was looking to die by a very painful, STD or AIDS related death. Than yes, the fact there are guys on here that say would have to think about it is disturbing. God only knows what that filthy street walker has done with men or animals. Sorry but they should exterminate people like that, its gross as hell. There are way too many attractive women out there that haven't screwed a fat ass slob so she could shoot up in an abandoned house in the projects. For me to want even be caught associating with one.

  • I can't say what my reaction would be. There's the stigma around it, and usually other problems they are having that lead them to this profession.

    But I'd like to think I'm quite forgiving.

    • I'm just very curious. I live in queensland, Australia, and the brothels and escort businesses are booming! If there are so many escorts and prostitutes of both genders, I'm curious how they would go once left the profession of commiting to a monogomous relationship. ^^Sorry, my spelling is terrible.

    • Well you'd have to ask them how they do it. I know some sex workers get tired of the profession and realize what they want is a monogamous relationship. Others realize they want to be alone. It's humanity, so the growth is always individualistic.

  • I would, it would probably be a little tougher though. The positive I guess is if you were a prostitute, you would theoretically come in with some good knowledge on your body, and mine, and hopefully we would have good sex.

    I think I would feel something along the lines of she's just satisfying my needs, rather than we are sharing an intimate moment, because that is what the sex was for most of her encounters.

    Promiscuous women usually have a lot of emotional baggage and commitment issues, I would know because I dated one when I was younger. The cheating, the mood swings, it is a massive headache, and marriage to such a woman would be doomed to failure.

  • Really tough to do. Tried for 5 years and it was excruciating. Requires a great deal of self examination and constantly trying to be a better person. If I were younger I would recommend to let it go. But I’m 55, have five years into the relationship and want to see where it goes. The difficult part of it is that you know you can be replaced at the drop of a hat.
