  • It means trust your intuition. Your brain, subconsciously and unconsciously, can be telling you that something is wrong, but at a conscious level, you are not aware at yet. For example, you can think your partner is cheating on you, but you don't rationally or consciously know the reasons as to why you think that.

    • Thanks for most helpful :) I am now listening to an audiobook about fast-thinking and slow-thinking, or intuition and deliberate thought. Intuition can be a very interesting thing!

What Guys Said 3

  • It means that you should rely on your intuition, but never to contemplate it, ever. The other half is a less serious claim, which is to say, you're usually right about moral value.

It's one of the stupidest quotes I've ever read, not being insulting, but because of all sorts of implications it entails.

  • Fear is a gift. If you act out of fear and you're wrong, maybe you've violated a social convention. If you suppress your fear and you're wrong, maybe you're dead.

  • In terms of a bad gut feeling, yes. Trust your gut.

Your subconscious mind may be seeing things around you, the way others are behaving, for example, and is telling you to get out of there.
