How do I "break up" with a 15 year old without hurting her feelings?

I'm 18 and there's this girl in my art club who is 15. She told me she didn't have any friends so I felt sorry for her so me and my friend hung around with her in lunch, to be nice.
I guess you could say we became friends.

Anyway she really likes me and is trying to come on to me, indirectly through flirting.
How can I let her down with hurting her feelings?

What Girls Said 1

  • Tell her you are gay, but then be like don't tell anyone because I have not cone out yet. Got that from a book.

What Guys Said 2

  • Just be straight with her. Be gentle of course, but honest. If you enjoy spending time with her tell her so, but don't say anything like, "If you were older..." or "Maybe in a few years..." that just creates a sense of hope that she may hold onto for years. You like her as a friend, tell her. There isn't any sure shot of not hurting her feelings, all you can do is make it not as hurtful. I wish you well.

  • Bring another girl to this "lunch" and introduce her as your "girlfriend"
