Has an ex ever played games with you during / after a breakup?

Did you ever find out why? And how did you deal with it?

When my ex initially announced our breakup (behind my back), she had left about 2/3 of her things at my house, and we still had a joint cellphone account. For several months, she never came to get any of her things or even asked for them. She occasionally would ask to split off of our phone account, but when I made the arrangements, she never followed through.

I never got an answer from her, but some people suggested that she never intended to be completely done in the first place -- leaving her stuff left a foot in the door, and asking to split off the phone plan was hoping to hear me beg her to come back, not actually leave. Both seem like a plausible ideas.

Any other experiences?

  • Yeah. I think most relationships that break up are nasty so the other person is bound to do something and one last F you

    • A breakup is inherently a nasty thing.

But you do occasionally hear about an amicable separation.

    • By the same crap: left stuff behind and / or other things?

And by forcing her to tell you: what did you say / do?

    • I emailed her asking if she wanted it. She kept trying to not answer. I finally told her I had to know or it was gone in a week.

She finally caved and told me to get rid of it.

What Girls Said 4

  • @Ram0n83 I experienced something similar, but not to the extent of calling it a game. I would call it being used, or trying to use me.
He left all his belongings in our apartment when he moved. I gave him 2 months to move it, told him if he didn't it was going in the trash. I even "packed" it for him... In trash bags. Little did he know I was moving out that last month and his stuff went to the dump. I wasn't playing, nor was my apartment going to be a free storage unit.
The cell phone was in both our names, he paid it monthly until his phone broke. He owe under $200. I had to send him a mean nasty text about being irresponsible and shit, and he finally paid it because I practically threatened him.
We still communicate only because we have children. Sometimes ex's are so stupid.

  • He once text me in evening that he misses me and want me back, I was like careful and reserved in our conversation. But in morning I got emotional and text him first saying good morning and he told me that he was thinking that us getting back together is bad idea. He done similar things couple of times. I got new boyfriend 5 years ago and that ex drunk call me and text me that he loves me all that time, even a month ago. Luckily I feel nothing cuz that is his mind games. He is manipulative shit who can't accept that I am happy.

What Guys Said 7

  • After my ex broke up with me through text, she came back to town a few days later crying saying she missed me so much. She said she loved me and wanted to get back together. We took things slow until she went on a date with another guy and I found out. She then blew up on me saying "I wasn't giving her space" or "you act like we were in love" then proceeded to block me on all social media.

    • After she moved out, I told her that if she was done I would rather she just be honest so we could start doing what we needed to to go our separate ways. She said she was open to reconciling later.

The following week, two of my friends called me, asking about the split. They said that they saw her Facebook post about it. That was how I found out what her decision was.

  • Luckily not and I hope this will never happen to me. My ex broke up and took care of my feelings while doing it. She's a good person and I'm thankful I had her in my life. One of the best person I've ever met.

  • How does one keep a girl like that? When someone is done with me, they are done. No iffs ands or buts about it. I kind of get jealous at how some guys seem to keep the girl coming back

    • She never said that she wanted to come back. But from what some other people said and from what I read, it was a possibility.

I never found out exactly what her reasoning was. But with how she went about some things during the breakup, my instinct was to assume that it was over, so I started focusing on moving on.

  • Yes. I cut the little shithead out of my life ever never thought twice about her. I don't play games.

  • Whole relationships are games to most women. They get in them for the sole purpose of hurting the man as badly as possible.
