Sugarcoating phrases to justify breakups. Why aren't people honest from the start?

1. "I'm not ready for a relationship yet"
2. "It's not you, it's me"
3. "You should move on and find someone better"
4. "I'm not the man/woman for you"
5. "you're too good for me"
