Can my ex boyfriend gets me in trouble for his cat?

My ex and I currently live together after we broke up because our lease doesn’t expire until December. He has a cat that likes to hide. When he couldn’t find the cat for over 10 minutes, he would angrily accuse me of harming her then throwing her out on the street only to find her under the couch 30 minutes later. This happens very often. Yesterday after 3 hours of not being able to find the cat, he almost called the police on me. As he threatened to put me in jail for his cat disappearance, the cat decided to come out of her hiding spot. I’m now fear that if his cat decides to hide any longer in the future, he would call the police on me and tell them about his false assumption. Can he get me in jail if he couldn’t find his cat hiding spot for a few hours?
