How should I move forward in my relationship?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for nearly 6 months (5 of which were long distance). He has been there for me while I was grieving with loss, we resolved to stay with each other throughout long-distance, and he saw a future with us 10 years down the line. One day, I needed some time alone (we often communicate when we need time to ourselves) and he suggested a break. A couple days later, he suggested we break up, and a few minutes later changed his mind and asked for me to give us a second shot. I feel conflicted about what to do, because I still love him but I now have walls put up. He, on the other hand, has been acting relatively normal. How can I get past the fact that he did want to break up at one point of our relationship (even if it was brief)?
