If his ex didn't cheat on him, he wouldn't have come to talk to you in the first place. Due to your shared past, you want to help him, and at the same time (you want to get something in return- a small bite of the past= getting back together). I'm not asking you to be rude, but he has to take the responsibility for his choice. Currently, if you're in a relationship with someone else, I'm sure your partner won't like what's going on, or maybe he'd presume you're cheating on him with your ex. At the end of the day, he lives his life, and you have to live yours, too. Life doesn't give free lessons, he has to learn.

You are a familiar face and he probably does trust you compared to the last girl
Yeah, that's something my older brother would say about his ex girlfriend. She is only the woman he trusts very much, I can see why because she is a good woman and we still stay in the contact with her as a friend. This could be the same as your ex boyfriend.

Not really. He probably meant someone who is familiar with him like his family. Usually exes for guys are women who they can be comfortable around with. Doesn't mean much

It certainly sounds like it, but please be very careful that you don't end up being on his rebound.
