Possible causes for lump in lower jaw?

I'm a 17 year old girl.I have a small lump, a bit bigger than a pea but very hard in the centre of my lower jaw (about one inch down and one inch across from the corner of my mouth so on the upper part of my jaw). I thought it might be a lymph node but my mum said its in the wrong place for that as its too high up on my jaw. It doesn't move much, I'm not sure if its moving at all when I press it or if I'm imagining it. It doesn't hurt a lot when I press it just a dull ache. I thought it might be something to do with my wisdom teeth coming through but it isn't very close to the tooth, about an inch away. It isn't visible, I can only feel it. I'm not sure if its a dental or medical problem but I've never had a dental problem before. I'm panicking a bit because I've had a serious cancer scare in my childhood due to a tumour that left me hospitalised for a long time. Please help.

  • Simply visit your dentist.

That may be a precursor to another serious disease.
