Oops, I Missed and Got Your Cheek: A Quick First Kiss Tale

I want to tell you the story about how I got my first kiss. It's really embarrassing that's why I thought I'd share it with you.

I was 15 1/2 at the time. I had never had a girlfriend, and my experience with girls was very limited. My dad, who thought I needed a girl in my life, wanted my best friend to set me up with a girl. My best friend's girlfriend at the time (now ex), had a single friend that I had never met before (blind date). I went on the date (at the mall) and it went OK but not great. It was a group date since I felt more comfortable that way so my friends were there.

My friends said I should try and kiss her because apparently she was making signs that she wanted to be. I was also at the time, still trying to get my temporary license, and I had lesson that day. I had to get going to the lesson so when I was about to leave, was when I tried to kiss her, I missed her mouth completely (I was in a rush) and wound up kissing her cheek. What was embarrassing about it though was what I said for it. I said "oops, I missed and got your cheek". That really isn't the best thing to say after that sort of thing but, it was just what came out. Needless to say, her and I don't even speak to this day.

I've had better kisses since, but, I'll always remember my first, because of what I said.
