Is racial/cultural/linguistic difference a turn off?

I am an international from east-asia. My mother language is not English and I'm largely influenced by Asian culture, for example I like Japanese animes and J-rock.

Even though I do speak very fluent English and know a lot about British culture (compared to many other east asians), it's still hard for me to fully adapt to the social networks here. There are always some slangs that don't know, always some TV programmes that I've never heard of, and it's just frustrating when local people click instantly, understanding the humor behind it when talking about these whilst I know nothing.

So guys do you think it's a turn off if a girl is culturally different from you? Would you date her even though you might face disparities in sense of humor and interests?
