Why cheat? This is for people who have and can give me insight?

I've heard many responses to this question, but I would love to hear examples of situations you were personally in that led you to cheat. If you're married and cheated or wanted to cheat, why? Same goes for being committed to someone in a relationship. Did you ever cheat because you genuinely had feelings for the person you chose to cheat with, what does that mean in regards to the partner you cheated on? No judgement! I'm not aiming to argue or shame anyone, I'm just genuinely curious. Age old topic.

Lack of sex/intimacy led to my cheating. I've found/learned that right or wrong, men need sex and most men probably would chat if they thought they could get away with it.. most guys I know in my age range have all cheated. Doesn't mean they don't love their partner or would ever leave them.. I'm not making excuses but we are still animal and those urges are there regardless of what society or religion tells us about marriage and sex..

In previous discussions I've got a lot of those responses. And right or wrong like you said, I agree. I think that plays a big part in it. Intimacy is a building block to a healthy relationship and if it's absent people tend to seek it elsewhere to fill a void. Yet it invokes the next question, why not try and fix it? And if it's not something to be fixed, why stay? 🤔

I tried to fix it but got nowhere so seeking it elsewhere won the battle.. I also confessed to my wife about having an affair and strangely enough she forcibly took me with more passion than ever before that same night. After that it was decided to make it work and we're still married 25 years later. I can't speak for women and there are always exceptions to the norm but I think men can have meaningless sex with a woman like it was a wank and also the intoxicating intimate sex that comes with loving and knowing a woman. If you are asking because your guy had cheated on you, only you can decide what you want moving forward.. I'll will say that it's likely true what they say that once a cheater, always a cheater but doesn't mean he doesn't love or would leave his wife..

Curiosity comes from many things. I did have a partner that cheated many many times and I chose to stay because the emotional and physical connection we shared. Our sex life was amazing, yet he had emotional issues that made him have a need for attention from many different places instead of a single outlet. Which ultimately destroyed us. Second is because of the other question I just asked. Go check that out. He was very gentleman like (if that's possible in this situation?) about it, but my mind was blown that he would willingly risk a marriage (not talked about in the question, but relevant to it) Third is because it's a vastly common occurrence with many dynamics stemming from many situations. And I wanted to know examples of those!
