Why do you think desperation is considered unattractive, psychoanalytically?

Will try to make this quick, settling a debate. Desperation is unattractive blah blah blah. But when you try to psychoanalyze why it's an unattractive feature, which do you think it is out of the 2 options given above?

Is it unattractive b/c it shows inferiority from the pursuer, since they wouldn't be desperate if they could get what they want?

Or is it unattractive b/c it makes the pursued target think the pursuer will take anything and therefore the target doesn't think they themselves are special to the pursuer?

Thanks!
The desperate person shows inferiority b/c they are showing signs they are unable to get what they want
