Guys: Do you care if your girlfriend isn't that nurturing?

I'm very independent by nature, pursue my interests with passion, and enjoy my alone time. I'm very good at providing emotional support and advice for personal growth, but I'm not "nurturing" in the traditional sense that I'm constantly looking out for others' needs and being all self-sacrificing. I'd rather spend my time with my S. O. talking about philosophy or a new scientific discovery or trying a new activity than cooking for him and doting on him. Is this really a turnoff for most men? Do they really expect their girlfriends to double as their mothers?

  • No, your personality is perfectly fine. Of Course, different guys have different preferences,

  • Some guys do, some guys don't. It depends. My mother was very nurturing, but I don't expect the same from my girlfriend. It can be a turn off, or rather mistaken for a lack of affection.

  • I would rather let them be my partner rather than just taking care of me

  • I think your looking and thinking about nurturing wrong. cause even just encouraging is nurturing.
