  • I don’t see what dating has to do with prostitution.
And I don’t support the legalization of prostitution. Rent-A-Pussy just sounds like happy slavery to me.
I’m not going to go out of my way to stop it but I am against it.

I laughed so, so hard. Well done.

    • It’s cool if you don’t see it as slavery.
It’s probably going to be legal everywhere anyways.
      You have fun in Amsterdam

    • @Ellie-V you're right! My bad!

  • women are not objects to be paid for and used. they aren’t going to be lining up for this position because this isn’t fucking pretty woman and richard gere isn’t going to sweep you off ur feet after paying to fuck you. If prostitution becomes legal then the demand will rise and more than likely, human trafficking will go up. and more often than not, it wasn’t some glamorous choice, but an exploitation or desperation to remove oneself out of poverty. don’t fool yourselves into thinking you’d be doing women any favors by making it legal. just looking for more ways to objectify and use them without it being considered a crime.

    • Have you ever been to Amsterdam? There are women who are disease free, from all over the world, all shapes and sizes. The trafficking is coming from Korea and China, mainly to the sleazy massage parlors.

    • Men can also be prostitutes...

    • Yes they are.

  • Of course it should. What has it got to do with dating?

First and foremost, laws against prostitution are as ignorant as it gets. People should be allowed to do whatever they want with their bodies as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else, and it doesn't hinder anyone else's rights. Especially in a world in which capitalism reigns supreme. Legalize it, and tax them!
Furthermore, states and countries with legalized prostitution present much lower rates of sexual violence and crime (not just in the industry), lower rates of STD & STI transmission, greater average income and health benefits for workers, lower divorce rates, and greater tax revenues.
There are no good reasons for keeping prostitution illegal. Whatever reasons remain are centered around ignoring people's inherent autonomy in favor of antiquated notions of puritanism. Some may even be opposed in order to deliberately gain legal and political leverage.

    • It has everything to do with dating because there would be a lot of MEN who just drop out of the dating game all together. Less marriages, less kids, less relationships, etc.. this would cause a shift in the way dating is perceived and valued.

    • Empirical evidence? of what? Countries the size of Texas who have legalized prostitution? We are talking about all 50 states of the USA. We don't know.. I stated MY opinion of what I think could happen. Thank you for your comment but agree to disagree. Skyline Chilli is a big hit in Cincinnati Ohio.. it doesn't mean that's empirical evidence that it would be liked everywhere.

    • I like your view on this, +1 from me

  • Why should it be made legal. As the one who is suggesting that we change the way something is currently done, it is incumbent on you to provide a justification for the change.

    0|0
    0|0
    • I am not suggesting it should be changed. I just merely asked everyone's opinion. Just because something is the way it is doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed nor given justification why it should. There was no justification of why marijuana was legalized.. everyone just agreed in Colorado that is should be legal. Right?

  • It’s legal where I live (NL) and I’m convinced that legalizing it in more and more counties would certainly have a positive impact on sex trafficking so I support that. It’s definitely in no way part of the world of dating though.

  • I think whoever does prostitute should get help..
And whoever allows prostitute.. should go to prison..
    Prostitute should end

    2|4
    2|4
    • Why? It's been around forever. When it was made illegal (like prohibition) it was taken to the back alleys where drug addicts were spreading their diseases. Legalizing it would require testing, and it could be taxed. Instead of degrading women to get beaten or killed. It could empower them even more by having the ability to say no.

    • Uh think ur wrong there
If u disobey ur pimp u will either get beaten and or killed
And ur not allow to say no

    • @Drener why are you talking like-if from experience? I guess you aren't dead...

  • yes because its going happen anyway and if its legal you can make sure there's regular testing and proper security etc

  • Well I’m not from the US. But yes it should be legal. Why the hell not? It’s someone else’s job, if you don’t like prostitutes then simple answer: don’t associate with them. You prude.

  • I'd agree with that. Should be regulated, though

  • I see that many opinions approach the topic from the woman's perspective. Let me offer mine.
First of all, there's a case to be made that in a world where an ever increasing amount of men are denied sexual affection by the "fairer" sex, it ahould be their constitutional right to have sex if they deem that necessary in their life. The Declaration of Independance, a document that acts as a motivation for the Constitution, clearly states that everyone should have the right to the pursuit of happiness. If one finds joy in sex, that person should not be denied sex, be that through any means, just because you have moral problems with prostitution.

As for protecting sex workers, and regulating prostitution - I don't think that's necessary, in fact I feel it is detrimental.
First of all, if you, as a prostitute, are affraid of being beaten by a pimp, or being raped by a customer, there's an incredibly easy way of avoiding that - don't be a prostitute.
I feel that prostitution should remain a risky business for a really simple reason. Because it being risky prevents droves of women from participating it. Yes, I said it. If prostitution was legal, and completely safe, literal droves of women would choose this profession. The market would be saturated really quickly.
    Don't believe me?
    Two things.
    Boobie Streamers and Camgirls.
It has essentially become a standard thing for a female streamer to put out her breast, not to mention the amount of women on Pornhub marturbating with their faces covered for views and money. Yes, many women, lots of women would GLADLY auction off their bodies if it was perfectly safe, That's arguably not a good thing for a society. So I oppose regulations on prostitution.

  • It should be legal and in a specific place like a brothel and the women or men that work there should be tested. If its going to be legal it has to be clean.

    • Interesting question Coach! Be sure to ask some more.

  • I think having prostitution illegal causes all manner of problems not to mention crimes related to it like human trafficking
I cannot really see what good it does society to have it outlawed
Legalize it regulate it tax it give them legal recourse when exploited and thus forth
The demand for it is too big and too consistent for any bans to make sense it just criminalizes a lot of people for no good

    0|2

    • Many Men don't want to date but would like to be intimate so if legalized this would essentially affect the dating world with guys dropping out left and right. Do you think it should be legalized?

    • I get what you're saying. But I'm still leaning towards "no."

I just don't see a way to ensure public health about the matter. Even if hookers were required to take STD tests, they would still have a lot of customers, and could potentially pass disease to all of them before it was detected.

    • Sure.. we could say the same thing about our food. We can't ensure what were are eating is 100% guaranteed safe. Food is the source for about 1 million illnesses a year.. just look it up on the CDC. Nothing is perfect.

  • Yes because I think there would be less guys getting into relationships which would decrease the amount of women that get abused in a serious relationship. Also there would be less guys going after girls that are under the age of consent.

  • It would all depend upon votes, etc. If that ever does become legal, it makes me wonder if I should start investing in stocks for manufacturers and companies that make and produces things like Condoms and Birth Control pills, lube, etc. if that ever did became legal in most of the entire country or the entire country. It could be strategic and important with the way how things are with money and jobs. And look on the bright side, at least for those that are desperate and out of work, they can do this and not have to worried about getting busted and having to pay fines or spend time in prison, especially if they were desperate in trying to be able to pay their bills, their rent, etc. to have a roof over their head and being able to feed themselves.

I wonder what some of my bros think about this? Even if they don't live here in the states.

  • Yes I think it should be legal, it’s her body. Her choice
It would then be better regulated. Girls would be safer. Tax money. Creating new jobs

Tax, legalize, and regulate it (in terms of health, safety, and monetary responsibly)

  • Legalize it, tax it, make strict requirements for businesses. For example have a job that keeps track of where all the "Prostitutes" are and make sure they aren't getting kidnapped or something. Make a government team-ish that confirms the work place is good and keeping up with the laws...

  • It should be legal everywhere, so it could be kept on check and regulated, to avoid anything dangerous or illegal.
You can't stop prostitution. It's not called "the oldest job in the world" for nothing. So if you can't stop it, well regulate it. That would hit human trafficking and illegal prostitution a lot, while making the job safer for the girls.
And at the same time, you make the punishment for the crimes above much, much stronger.

  • The only reason it's not legal is because it's too hard to track the income for tax purposes. Otherwise there is no legit reason it shouldn't be. It's a service, just like plumber, pool cleaner, dog walker, etc.

  • No it shouldn't its low key disgusting. And sets the bar really really low for people. Maybe in the future when robots take majority of jobs then sure. but right now no

  • It should be legal in the form of registered brothels but street prostitution should be illegal.

    0|3
    0|0
    • That's my argument. Although through the web, you can get a proatitute. There would be a few less dead hookers, plus some addicts will have to clean up. If there is a place that's clean where you can release frustration, why go to the streetwalker with only 4 teeth?

  • i think criminalizing it is what makes it so fucked up. legalizing and regulating it makes it very acceptable in those countries where it is legal.

  • i think the problem is rooted in the same manner as always: first decide on the general notion of prostitution.

I think every time one has sex for her interest, meaning something to gain BY sex is prostitution. the fact whether its directly paid or the gain is indirect has nothing to do about it.. if that notion can be generalized as so, we could state that never in the fckn history were there so many prostitutes walking this earth, and if sy becomes common law has to give a frame...

systematically legalizing the openly business part would only make it safer and more clear for all members affected.. i think.
