By controlling your thoughts. Though having a crush is something positive and I wouldn’t necessarily try to hold back and let that person know how you feel. It’s the best remedy to cure a crush too. You’ll get it out of your mind and if he or she’s a jerk about it then you know it’s time to move on.
You remove yourself from the situation and detach from them emotionally. Remember the reason why you can't be involved with that person AND that you cannot like somebody you don't know. Be more logical about it and never be emotionally attached in that way without a rational reason for it.
You won’t actually need to do this until you actually know if the crush likes you back. If she doesn’t, I just let the pain from the previous one sink in and it will fade after a day or so. I usually develop another crush if the pain lasts more than a day.

Fill up your day with other activities

Gennerally I lose interest after I kiss them ( ik I'm weird), but I guess keeping a certain distance from them works for most people, or even finding another crush.
Or you can follow the stupid path I once chose: Tell them you like them and hear their answer.
Well, this last thing is when you are friends with them for a long time, at least spitting it out made me lighter.
Well I see two situations here:
1. You don't know how it will go in the end, but you are afraid to take risks, and I would tell you, that you will never know how it's going to end until you walk the path.
2. She is starting a toxic relation in which is showing a bad end from the beginning (this is strange although it can happen) if you are brave, and you realize is very likely you are in love with her when that time comes, so you must evaluate how much you love yourself.
This is a hard one. But maybe you can distract yourself by hanging out with friends
I believe it takes concentrated effort and trying one's best to focus on other things, it is not easy and it takes a while, but eventually, one's efforts begin to bear fruit.
Hard to tell. I'm a pretty detached person so it's not really a problem for me. But would say distract yourself is a good idea.
