Why? And in case you were wondering, my dad was cool with it
I think functioning guns should just be used as practical tools that people buy because they need them, not toys to show off and play with. A few guns for self-defense or hunting are reasonable, but buying a frivolous amount of deadly weapons for fun is over the top.
Well, either of those would prevent them from getting guns in the first place

How'd you meet her?
Grocery store about 9 years ago, became friends but then lost contact till last year when we bumped into each other once again. Been together ever since.
For the same reason I wouldn't date a knife enthusiast. The only purpose a gun serves is to kill someone, I wouldn't date someone who was enthusiastic about that sort of item. A gun owner in a country where they were legal, fine that's ok. A competitor again sure that's fine. But a gun enthusiast, not for me. I find the idea of being enthusiastic about something that's only purpose is to kill a worrying concept
It's purpose is to hit targets, actually
The purpose of a gun, its whole design is to kill or incapacitate. If it was designed to hit a target instead they wouldn't be lethal
What do you know about gun design? Exactly, literally nothing
And playing down the seriousness of a guns purpose just makes it easier for the people that want to kill with them
Your irrational fear of inanimate objects eliminates any credibility you have, liberal.
So if guns are designed to hit a target then just make all guns non lethal and there you go. They still serve the purpose people want them for and people don't get killed
You can't destroy stuff on the range with non lethal guns, and they're lame and boring as hell.
I'm not scared of guns, I'm scared of people who think lethal weapons can be treated like toys. Why are you assuming my political stance? And why are you trying to use a political stance as an insult?
So it's the lethality that makes them interesting? Do you not see the issue with that.
Liberals have become a meme because it's so hilarious when they try to talk about guns. And you clearly are afraid of them because you don't know anything about them. In that case, I'd advise against you having one as you obviously don't know how to keep things safe, hence why we don't let women shoot on our range anymore because they just carelessly break all safety rules and ding up our stuff.
So you assume my political stance and then try to insult me over that and then try to insult me over my gender? If you disregard your political opposition and disrespect them you leave them free to do the same in return. If you try to force them out because you disagree that's becoming totalitarian.I worry about guns because of the statistics attached to them. In the usa across 2017/18 More civilians were shot and killed then in the entirety of the war in Afghanistan. I didn't say I'm anti gun ownership, but guns aren't toys and behaving like they are is worrying. The more people dismiss how dangerous they are, the easier they make it for people that want to kill with them and the bigger the political backlash will be when it eventually comes. If gun owners were smart about it they would acknowledge the danger that guns could be and lead the regulation decisions to keep them in safe hands and stop the liberals taking control of it.
That's what we're doing, stopping liberals from taking what's rightfully ours, and I'm speaking from experience, I've only had one woman not break a shit ton of safety rules on the range, all the rest were hilariously stupid with them and put others and themselves at risk as a result of their stupidity with firearms. I define a toy as an object that can be used safely to put a smile on your face and show yourself a great time, guns fit that definition. I know my shit with gun safety, I follow all rules at all times and even added extra rules of my own, so your assumption that I don't treat my guns with respect and care is false.
I didn't assume that you don't treat them with due care and respect, I said that a lot of people don't. Some responsibility for that has to sit with the people educating those women to use guns safely in the first place. A toy should never have the potential to harm someone.Just saying no isn't stopping the liberals, refusing to give anything and insulting them for their concerns will entrench their position and then what do you do when they have the political power to do what they want with it? Taking control of the regulation agenda and introducing regulations while you control the content of them gives you much better power to curtail how far it would go now and in the future. What's wrong with putting controls on the virtually unregulated areas like private sales after all. If gun owners who want to defend their constitutional rights lead the agenda they get a say in it, just denying it means it open season when the opposite side have political power
Why is that?
I don’t support collection of deadly weapons in the house
