Should I tell my boyfriend about my ex contacting me?

Short story my ex went back to his abusive multi cheating ex like a year ago. He was neglectful to me & went behind my back.

He tried contacting my before 3 months after getting together with his ex but I ignored it. Seven months later now he is trying to contact me again. However by the context of the text he thinks I changed my number. So again I ignored it by deleting it.

My new loving boyfriend is wonderful & treats me like woman. I want to tell him that my ex tried to contact me but I don't want him to feel worried. My friend says I shouldn't since I did not reply to my ex & did the right thing. My boyfriend is in another country right now for vacay. This happened a week before he left.
Is it right for me to not tell him since I ignored my ex?

You did do the right thing. Just move on and continue letting your ex remain a ex, despite the fact your ex keeps making an attempt to snag you from your new found situation.

I could go either way with telling him or not telling him. There's the principles of openness and honesty on one hand, and simply no point to on the other... especially since you don't seem tempted to talk back to the ex and make some bad moves, and also don't seem to have a reason to either be a narcissist that wants to show you are so wanted (like people with validation issues do). Yeah, I'd say let it go...

Honesty is the bedrock of any relationship. So yes tell him. If you're already thinking to yourself "should I tell him?" The answer is almost always yes. Because whatever it is you're thinking about is probably important. Being almost completely honest with your partner is the best way to stresstest your relationship. But probably wait untill he gets back. Communication via text, or even calling and videocalling is not as good as an actual irl conversation. A lot of body language and tone gets lost if you're not communicating person to person.
I once heard someone compare online communication to junk food. Yes it achieves the same thing but there's far better alternatives.

Probably a bad idea, with two exes now I continued to get drunk texts when they knew I was in a new relationship, to the point of sending me nudes of things we had done together. Multiple times with two different exes. I think it would be worse to tell the new boyfriend I think it is just part of digital age lmao

I feel like there is no need to hide things and since you didn't even reply I don't see why he would be worried about it, it will just let him know that you are honest with him about stuff. My boyfriend told me when his ex tried to contact him and I was grateful that he did.

I would just block him or change my number if I were you. I wouldn't tell my boyfriend. It's not like you answered and you cheated or something. Or you could tell you boyfriend to get on your phone and let your ex know that he needs to leave you alone.

If he had an ex who tried to contact him, he withheld that information, you later learned about it, and he then explained that he did not want to worry you. . . do you think you might pause and wonder whether he was being candid with you or whether he was trying to do something behind your back?

If he learns about this some other way, you won't have an opportunity to go back and change how you handle this, so think about it carefully.

I don't think it's a big deal to not tell him because you deleted the messages. If I was your boyfriend though, I would want to know because I really value good communication. If you think he would react negatively though, I can see why you wouldn't want to say anything. You did nothing wrong.

You blocked him and didn't respond. It's a non-event. Forget about it and move on. If he continues to try to get a hold of you then I would bring it up to your boyfriend and let him know you are having this difficulty. Then you can work together on a solution to it and he'll know you're above board.

Wait until he gets back home and then tell him. You cannot be held responsible for what your ex texts you, right. Tell your boyfriend that your ex is harrasing you, so he can help you with the situation.

You need to block your ex. The non response was good. I don't think it's an issue to not tell your current boyfriend because nothing happened on your end in terms of letting your ex back into your life.

Yes most guys if they actually want the relationship would probably be put at ease by it, but I suggest telling him when he's home
