I am not sure we're each other's type. But all flirting starts with non verbal communication. It's all about eye contact, thpse sly sideways looks and smiles. After she responds positively it comes down to controlling the conversation subjects. Let her talk, listen closely and kerp track of details. Refer back to them later, "so what does Sarah say about him?" As Sarah is her friend etc. Never talk badly about the current, the moment you do it becomes them against you. Let her vent instad. Suggest coffee after workout, and be a perfect gentleman about it. Good manners, let her talk. Keep details about yourself vague and intriguing. Certainly don't let her pin down your economic bracket doesn't matter if your rich or poor let her think whatever she wants. When you part, hint that, perhaps your a better choice... Don't try and make future plans, just keep it vague. See you soon... Kind of thing.
Next time you see her, (she will change gyms or rutines if she isn't interested). Aak about him, and whatever she says determines if your going to be the replacement or the affair. If you're the affair and you don't want to be simply act offended and leave. Drop the rutine for a few days then next time ask if she's up for coffee again, let her apologize and put yourself between them. Say your going to have to choose and ALMOST kiss her... Pull away and let it stew... She'll come around.
Thanks for MHO. Like I said we're certainly not each other's type. But when I played the field I knew what I was doing.

She doesn't look like my preferred type, but I would just park my $95,000 Jaguar next to her and when she comes out say, "Hi! I am headed to the airport to fly off to lunch. Would you like to come?"
I'm not going to try to win a girl over. Either she's into me or she isn't. Hypothetically though, I'd show interest and try to get to know. I'm not the pushy type with girls though.
