OK don't pull her away from a group of people to ask, but if you don't have the confidence (not everybody does) to ask her in public, wait until she is alone, walking to lunch or something then ask her but don't say will you or I want you to, will you can work but the whole I want you to is a no no! Makes you sound needy, what you say is

would you you like to go on a date with me?

Makes it sound like you think highly of yourself but not too much. Also before you even go up to her, have a few ideas on when and what to do on your date, is she says yes you need to be prepared or she might ask where, and you need more that one idea because if she can't eat a certain food or go to a certain place for some reason, if you have more that one idea you won't get stumped, hope this helped and good luck
