Have you ever been “starstruck” by (crushing on) an older, more established person in your field?

I know what the limits are more or less, I know how good you can be and how bad. I am sometimes amazed at things people have come up with but you don't have to be extraordinarily/unbelievably smart to come up with great/amazing things. But what do I know, things you are so sure on are the ones that kill you in the end... Have you?

Most of the guys I liked were around my age or a few years younger. I've only liked a handful of older guys unless you count professors but they are banned territory for me. I like them from a distance but would never date them or try to date them.
