This is exactly how I feel about it. As long as we can have a frank and civil discussion there's no reason that politics would drive a wedge between me and my partner.
Some people get so hung up on the difference that they don't dive a little deeper and see if there's a greater takeaway. Even one that could potentially even change their view of things!
Yesssss. I'm all about gaining new insight 👀
Right 😂 I like when someone can even prove me wrong on something. Because it allows me to go about life in a more factual way. Which is how I prefer to go about it. It's kinda scary to hear what can motivate a person when it comes to many controversial topics. Many are influenced by their place in whatever hierarchical structure they value the highest. For instance, my sisters don't know much about politics but they're hardcore against trump. And I believe it's because their friends are the type to ostracize and view someone as inferior if they disagree on something controversial/highly emotionally connected. So, my sisters picked a side without doing any research because they don't want to be lonely. But their flaw is the fact that they're even around people like that. Sure they could benefit in other ways. But in my opinion, the trade-off is not worth it. They're not what I would define to be true friends. But it could easily be me in that trap. So
Oh my gosh 😂
