I think the issue is the vast variety of definitions it seems to have, at least in terms of how it's used. The "bad boy" trope is a common one. The "good leader" is another. Problem with the "good leader" is that these types have been very rare for most of history. Even men with said qualities are fairly rare.
And which of these two male types (Bad Boy and Alpha male) is better hook up material?
@Madmegalomaniac I disagree. I’ve met many men like that. I’m not talking about Roosevelt or Washington when I say leadership. It can exist on a much smaller level: the uncle you can always depend upon to help you out of trouble, the coworker who never calls in sick if he can help it, the guy who breaks up the fight at school, or the one who leads the discussions at work. Maybe they’re not in a position of authority at all; it’s a personality thing. They’re a coworker, not a boss, but if there was a fire or an earthquake or tornado etc... (when the stakes are high) they’re the one everyone looks to. The emergency doesn’t have to occur for someone to be the person who would come through. There are plenty of people like that.
Yeah. By good leader, I mainly meant "someone with good leadership qualities", but that just sounded too verbose.

Yes. This is why im usually single but never alone. Need someone as amazing as i am or its not worth it to be serious.
Not going to happen. Sorry.
simps are considered caring and considerate though, but they're avoided like the bubonic plague
Really? That’s what I needed to say in response to the question. I don’t need to state how else he was during the marriage. I like alpha types for many reasons. They have a lot of good qualities. Being kind and considerate to your other half is part of being in a relationship. Women who don’t want these qualities among others must have commitment issues.
You mean if you can tame one?
They aren’t lions to be tamed. Alpha males are any female’s first preference.
How true how true!
Adequate men, who don't buy into this alpha and beta garbage.
@Unit1 Not acknowledging how human social structure works, doesn't mean you don't participate. It just means you're blind to it.You don't get to opt out of "alpha vs beta".Just because you don't believe alpha or beta is a thing, doesn't mean that those 1/10 men who are financially successful, look good, are respected by men, and have plenty of women don't exist. And it doesn't mean that 35y Virgin who lives in moms basement, has no friends and had sex once when he was 21 doesn't exist either.
@Torari Yeah, keep believing that.
@Torari Human social structure and behaviour is much more complicated than alpha vs beta. Would you define a compassionate or soft-hearted leader as alpha or beta? What about a dominant guy with a soft side? What about a stoic person (ie. quiet, not aggressive, but still cold)? What about a guy who's an asshole but is insecure? What about a guy that's both dominant and romantic? It's not about "opting in" or "opting out", it's that it's a ridiculous model of human social behaviour, and addresses a ridiculously small proportion of male personalities.
@MadmegalomaniacStop trying to over complicated things. Alpga/beta being a thing just tells you that human social structure follows a dominance hierarchy. Its a part of the structure, not the entire structure. No fucking shit there is more to it than just alpha/beta dynamics.
Here's what women want today...
@Torari That wasn't my point. My point is that some individuals have part-alpha and part-beta traits in their personalities. That makes the whole contrast ridiculously vague. Furthermore it's essentally a horrible model to represent social hierarchies. That is, I can see how behavioural traits can be identified as alpha vs beta, but ignoring human complexity and saying "this person is alpha vs beta" is what I find a bit ridiculous in my opinion.
Lmfao. The concept has a ridiculous amount of ambiguity. Them saying yes doesn't change that. A lot of ambiguous concepts are used normally by the public.
@Madmegalomaniac Lmfao the only people who don't know what it means are soyboys
I don't hurt people
Same I'm not hurting anyone but some stupid fucking people spread lies like that about me
@93_n_on but dude i don't think you are an alpha, no offence.
Lmao! Aye think what, I'm good
Uh oh. I demolished the confidence and the "masculinity" of those self proclaimed "alphas" with my truthful opinion, so that they downvoted me. Hahahaha. Not so "alpha" now are they? Keep em coming!
Unit 1 coming in hot!
You still banging sex dolls pal?
Everything you wish you could be?
Yeah right don't think so
For me it is important that he has a good personality, average looks and is virgin. I dont know if so called alphas can have this all. Maan even the name "alpha" is so cringe. I dont know for me the concept of alpha males is so cringe. We are not animals at all.
No sure if Alpha and Virgin go together. But your idea is a good start for you. Keep to your guns.
We're just highly intelligent apes.
except tyler 1
They are a thing of the past... Honestly... If we ever need to move backwards as a species they will be a viable option again. But I guess that depends on how you define "alpha" and what you see as marriage material
Coach just did 🤔🤔🤔 and before that, well, can't remember either.
