I do this to my girlfriend all the time. However, when we get off and arrive somewhere, she opens and closes it on her own. When we get in, I open and close it for her. I don't see this in public often. Only in older couples.
Girls- I don't like for them to open the car door for me. Guys- I don't open car doors

Don't stop doing this please but if she doesn't appreciate it then stop doing for a while. This is a kind thoughtful gesture and it shows that you care even in the smallest details. It's chivalrous. My man always does it and I always thank him for it. If a guy doesn't do it then honestly for me it's points against him. I don't know call me old school 😅

I do it. But sometimes the girl does it.
I think it goes more with how the day is going and how we both feel. Most girls I go out with know I'm the romantic type. But, there can be a point where it becomes too much after a period of time and it loses that "specialness."
So, I step back and just let her do her own thing. When we fall back into that romantic aspect, I start doing all that romantic stuff like opening doors for her. It just keeps that "specialness" and "I choose you" feeling alive.
If somebody tried opening the car door for me all the time, it would weird me out.
Are women afraid of door handles now? Goddamn.
I actually like the whole process of opening up my own doors and I can even wipe my own ass, too.
If a girl asked me to start doing this for her, as a favor, I would think, "Uh, okay, but what the fuck is wrong with you? You need help with doors now? Can you still button your own jacket or will you be needing help with that also?"
I'm not saying I wouldn't humor her, just that it would strike me as very odd.

Not so much the car door unless it is a special night out. Doors into building most of the time. But I still open and close the door for the German Shepherd all the time. He just sits and looks at me like I am an inferior for not opening it fast enough.
I open the door for a lady & these days you have to know a woman personally to know that. The SECOND she has a tude like she’s entitled to that or that I’m her servant: it ends.
Also i’m not running to open doors on buildings for anybody. If she wants the door opened she better walk behind me.
It is a part of old warrior culture, like standing when a lady enters the room. Military personnel do this for people of higher rank. Why? Because it is done for those who are considered more important. In a warrior culture women are more important than men, or more precisely men are more expendable because one man and ten women can produce ten new members of the tribe per year. One woman and ten men can only produce one. A tribe than loses 90% of its men can survive. If it loses 90% of its women it is doomed.
I don’t care but it is sweet yk and I would do the same if it were for my boyfriend. But no it never does it jus shows respect and it is nice so if anyone would have a problem with it would be weird haha.
I voted for "I don't like it" but it's more of a I don't care. It's nice every once and a while when you get dressed up or something but it just find it much faster and convenient to open and close my own door while the other person starts up the car.
It's a kind gesture and thoughtful , but it seems outdated now. I hardly ever see anyone opening a car door for someone , unless it's for their elderly parent , small child or disabled person.
I like it, my man does it for me almost always especially when we hire a driving service ie Uber. He just wants to make sure I get into the car safely, especially since I usually sit behind the driver (traffic side of car ) since my boyfriend is very tall and needs the extra leg space easily found sitting behind the empty passenger seat.

My husband will open the door for me most of the time. He says that when he does that it means we're going on a date.
I don't like it when a random person does it for me but is nice when someone who cares about you treats you like that. most random people that open doors or let you go in a room first, they feel like is an obligation and it feels forced
I actually don't like car doors opened or closed for me; unless I have a bunch of stuff in my hands and arms that can't be set down. Other doors are a different story.
It doesn't really mater one way or the other. If a guy opens a door for me I'm ok with it. If he doesn't open it I'm ok with that to. Either way I'm not getting triggered by it.
I was called a sexist for holding a door for a woman while walking into a building about five years ago. Since then, I don't open or hold doors for any woman anymore, except my wife and daughter.
It's been my experience that by the time I get out of the car, she's already getting out on her side. However, if she remains seated, I come around and open her door for her. Simple etiquette.
Never have. Always thought it would be considered condescending. Though I probably should start doing that for my parents as they're getting old.

I open the door for a lady, not a skank. If im dating a nice girl from the local Christian college who is marriage minded im opening the door. If im dating a girl who has casual sex she can get her own damn door.
I always open her car door and help her get in and out of the car. She is 6'2" and I don't want her bumping her head getting in or out of my small sports car.
