- Anonymous18 dAs a sapiosexual, pretty big actually.
But I dont mean the text-book definition of intelligence. Like, you dont have to be doctor or have a degree. I dated a girl who was not doing well in school. She wouldn't be able to have intelligent conversation about science, math etc. But she was very much into fashion. And it was extremely liberating to hear her talk about it. I am basically a noob in fashion. So it was delightful to learn so many things. About the color matching. Shape of the frame of eye-glasses. Shoes and belts etc. She was extremely intelligent in that.
So intelligence matter. But not the traditional societal definition of it.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

- I'd struggle to be into someone who I do not consider intelligent if I am honest. Don't thimk I ever have been (romantically). Of course that attraction would be to her own qualities and not a quantified measurement. The actual IQ score is not part of the dating questionnaire.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

117- Anonymous18 dIt matters to me. I’m considered above average intelligence, and I need someone that I can relate to and connect with. I’ve tried to date women who were real nice, but not the brightest. I genuinely enjoyed my time with them, and they were great... but it was always proven to be incompatible through time.0|00|0
- Anonymous17 dPeople lower than me think I'm stupid. People higher think I'm crazy. I want her to be close enough to understand me, even though I am crazy. Very few people are at my level, but approaching there is a better chance. I value communication, if that can be accomplished with even a larger gap in intelligence I can live with it, but it has led to a many of misunderstandings. So preferably around my IQ.0|00|0
- It's mandatory. I can't respect someone who is too stupid. And I can't date someone I don't respect. So people like feminists, Progressives, the super-religious, Flat-Earthers... They're an "absolute not" from me.0|00|0
- Yes, it´s huge thing. I need a woman who can think for herself and who´s able to communicate with me and so that we can talk about certain topics.0|00|0
- Not much. Men are more intelligent than women on average so it's best to just have smart friends.0|00|0
Are we? All data I saw shows that women are more intelligent on average but that men dominate the extreme ends of both spectrums.
That data looks at prepubescent boy and pubescent girls, not adults. Girls hit puberty first, then boys; after that, men are smarter than women, on average. It's a feedback loop of Affirmative Action recipient female teachers, their students and men to lazy to investigate. Maybe that's why I'm here?
'A 2004 meta-analysis by Richard Lynn and Paul Irwing published in 2005 found that the mean IQ of men exceeded that of women by up to 5 points on the Raven's Progressive Matrices test. Lynn's findings were debated in a series of articles for Nature. He argued that there is a greater male advantage than most tests indicate, stating that because girls mature faster than boys, and that cognitive competence increases with physiological age, rather than with calendar age, the male-female difference is small or negative prior to puberty, but males have an advantage after adolescence and this advantage continues into adulthood.'
en.m.wikipedia.org/.../Sex_differences_in_intelligenceWhile you cherry-picked that one and most results say "inconclusive" you seem to be right according to wikipedia. Maybe I need to refresh this. Been some five years since I went over it. At least the larger variance and male prevalence on the extreme ends seem correct! To be honest I do find these types of things very interesting so cheers for sharing it.
- Show All Show Less
If you sourced your data and looked at the ages, you'd say: girl are temporarily smarter than boys and men are smarter than women. Only white men don't receive Affirmative Action in universities and the workplace and only we earn our place.
To be fair we reproduced it back in highschool. Performing a standardized IQ test on my own and a few other willing psychology classes. Girls in our sample of 100 or so people were indeed scoring higher. All scores above 140 were boys. Also mostly guys at the very low end. So since we tested it and it added up I had little reason to question what was taught. I find my teacher taught in a responsible manner. I'll however dive into this topic someday when feeling motivated. Am not keen to make it political. Like I said, I do find it interesting and to me it is a more "cool how the brain works" sentiment. But I'm happy to agree we differ!
Your biased anecdotes > relevant studies.
The greater variance thing only applies to males before puberty, afterward, the variability is the same for both sexes and after puberty males have a higher Average IQ. You think what the Affirmative Action recipient, female teachers want you to think, so you'll give women undue credit. The so called anecdote was not used as scientific basis for an argument mate but rather to explain my previous notion. I also strongly disagree: Reproducing an experiment is a very reasonable approach to establishing right and wrong. I clearly never assumed it to be absolute or I would not have, quite instantly, agreed with your source earlier. Despite the bulletpoint of your source being that the results were not deemed significant and so can not be used scientifically for more than "maybe". After all I am willing to infer things and there is a recurring tendency.
Furthermore your source also repeats the more variance thing. Over and over. Men having more extreme values is not a bad thing for us, quite the opposite. I should not need to explain how having your best be better is an arguable positive if we want to compare genders. Those little blue numbers hyperlink the sources and they clearly list ages for study participants. Were you to investigate this, your opinion would change, but certain kinds of men are followers of women, so they can never lead.
- Almost none. There are pros and cons to smarter and dumber women. I get along well with both. I only care about her morals and personality tbh, intelligence not so much. Im not hiring her to build me a fucking rocket ship to the moon. 😂0|00|0
- It doesn't matter at all in my opinion, as long as we can talk normally that is.0|00|0
- It's a factor because it partially determines compatibility, but unless we're talking about her being unintelligent it's not a dealbreaker,0|00|0
- Her level of intelligence isn't a big factor, but she needs to be someone who can be taught, can accept criticism and will take on board corrections as well as give them0|00|0
- To an extend, she must be able to have deep conversations.0|00|0
- If you can't carry on a conversation with me when needed, it isn't going to work out.0|00|0
- For me, it's a major factor. I don't do well with people who aren't intelligent.0|00|0
