I would pass and not take any because both have more negative sides to it than positive ones. I would tell the genie to knock on the next door.

Let's analyze the 2 scenarios here.

1. The one person on the planet meant for you:

This person may be here today but gone by tomorrow because of illness/disease. What do you get out of that wish? Heartbreak, sorrow and shattered dreams of happiness or perhaps of a family together. Nothing is granted in life, nothing!

2. A suitcase with $1M

Good, the suitcase arrived, you counted and you are good. In the mailbox comes your tax return. Darn, how do I justify this income? Oh yeah, in the remarks box I put "the Blue Genie gave it to me".

Next thing you know you are summoned for an audit by the IRS. You try to convince them that the Blue Genie gave it to you. "I cross my heart, it is true".

Next thing you find yourself in the lunatic asylum and tell your story for the 100th. time. The head psychiatrist calmly tells you "just that this little pill, it will make you feel better".

The best part of your life is spent in this institution attempting to convince the staff that the Blue Genie gave you the money but in the meantime, the IRS confiscated the dough, sent you a fine of 25% of the $1M and you are sentenced to 10 years behind another set of bars...

With the million, I can invest and make it five million in three years' time, if I invest wisely. If she is still meant for me, I'll know, because she'll find a way to stay in contact. I can then use some of my returns to, once global politics become a little less crazy, book a flight after securing a visa. I can then visit her, and discuss options. And if she's clearly wrong for me, then I can invest some more, and then go out in pursuit of whoever else I'm supposed to meet. From there, money won't be an issue. Finding the right soul connection will be the issue instead. It'll be glorious, not having to worry about budgeting as much anymore. My mind will be free to think about all the other problems I can be solving. And if I meet her in the end? Then that potentially solves a whole bunch of problems right away.

My first wish, in that scenario, is for a grease gun. Second wish, a belt if ammunition too slap home inside that receiver. Third wish, for the magic Genie too hold still while I crank the firing bolt back, let it click home, take aim, and watch the ✨ magic Genie's Head disintegrate before my 👁️'s.

What if the "meant for you" person the genie is talking about is your child, and they just get you a one night stand (or worse)? Now you're a single parent.

And even if the person it is your partner, timing is important. What if the person is "meant for you" in two years, after they have gotten divorced? Now you're a homewrecker.

And, the money could be dirty. How would you explain that, let alone make the deposit or spend any? Now you're a criminal.

What if the 1 million dollars comes from a close relative dying upon achieving financial success, and you inherit it? Now you might be a murderer.

So yeah I would need to ask some questions before making a choice...

Hmmm... I think I'd ask a lot of questions about either and go from there.
Most likely, if the money was tax free, net, etc, I'd probably go with the money. But I'd put it in stocks, retirement, etc, and try to save and work off that. I'd still work, but it'd be nice not having to worry as much.

Now, if my "one" was independently wealthy, loved me, genuinely tried to make it work, was happy with me, and was worth 10 million, and I had the lifestyle with her that was going to work... then obviously, I'd go with the woman meant for me...

Assuming it wasn't a trick of course... like the person for me is not a romantic relationship, or they're horrible people... or they're fated to die two days later... something like that... but, assuming there's no tricks... probably the money, unless it was worth it for me to walk away from the money option.
