I am truly sorry that you had to go through that.

I think the key to stop people from cheating is to find out what they truly need out of that relationship. And then make sure you are both clear on how that is accomplished. Be it sex, support, nurturing, love, food, whatever the case may be.

And in some unusual situations you need to know how to show the other person that you are giving them that. Like if the guy says he needs togetherness, you might think you need to go out and do things all the time, when really he meant he just wants to be sitting quietly in the same room with you. (That's just an example for my point. Not saying that's what happened or anything.)
