If a guy says no to a good night hug, what does that mean?

We had a small issue that he didn’t want to hear me out and so I needed up blocking him but I hang around his roommates so I saw him today, tried to settle out differences again, said we don’t have an issue when I felt like we did because he wasn’t genuine when we had the conversation. I hung out for a couple more hours with his roommates and when it was time for me to go back to my room I knocked at his room door and asked him for a goodnight hug and he responded with “no” “no thank you”. So if a guy says no to hug but says we’re cool, what does that mean? Is he really not cool with me?

So it’s him a four other roommates. I’m friends with his roommates so I went over there for them not him but since he was there I tried to pull him aside to set aside our difference which he didn’t acknowledge.
