I don't know. I find more examples of men taking it personally and handling it poorly, but I also find far more men asking women out than the other way around.
If we look at a neutral category where there are as many men being rejected as women, like on some American Idol contest, the ones who handle the rejection especially poorly seem to consist of a fairly equal distribution of men and women who argue with the judges, e. g.

They both do. It's an affront to a woman's desirability, and it's an insult to a guy's ego. But reality says you can't fake or even negotiate attraction and desire - it's either there or it's not. No sense in trying to make it something it's not. NEXT!
This is unquantifiable. It's purely a matter of opinion. Suffice it to say rejection is not fun for either gender and their reaction is purely their own.
