It sounds absolutely brutal. Google the many articles about it. I've seen it talked about in many documentaries as well. Are you very fit? Is the pay better than what you can get elsewhere? Are you fine with pressure and deadlines? Would you feel ok if you tried it and later quit or got laid off, or would it demoralize you too much? Ask yourself these types of questions, and watch these videos.Exposed: Undercover Reporter at Amazon Warehouse Found Abusive Conditions & No Bathroom Breaks:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGdMbI6ZCTYTonnes of videos here:www.youtube.com/results
Would you feel ok if you tried it and later quit or got laid off, or would it demoralize you too much? Girl its a job. I don't take things like that seriously. If I get laid off meh, I just need some form of income.
Good. Then try it. Nothing to lose.
If you do, you need to be careful and you need to use the safety equipment (or demand it). My godmother's grandson nearly lost an eye and is having to get a cornea replacement due to an accident (bungee cord snapped and hit him in the eye) working at an Amazon warehouse. You could probably do the work just fine - you'd probably be packaging up stuff for shipment - but working any of those kinds of jobs, the safety gear isn't just there to annoy you.I often have to wear a hard hat, goggles, and other stuff that's annoying in my job, but it's important!
The lad you mentioned really needs to sue Amazon for compensation, AND get them done for Health & Safety offences.
@CaptainSmartass He was working as a contractor, so unfortunately, I'm not sure there's a lot he can do.
Dang. That sucks...
@CaptainSmartass I mean one of my cousin worked in a car wash and his foot got stuck inside the machine. His whole foot broke. He only 16. So I believe you and of course I am going to wear eye-wear and buying some work boots. But i am pretty sure they give you it.
They do give you all that stuff: Eye-wear, safety boots, hi-vis gear etc. Legally, they have to give you it. If they don't, then threaten to report them.
@CaptainSmartass I mean regardless I already knew. My mom use to work in construction. the company had to go her a vest and stuff.
Do you have any physical limitations? It's not that physically demanding. The most demanding part is to pick up boxes that weigh maybe 30 pounds.
no I am fat but I am not to the point where I can't walk or stand.
I'm guessing that if you'll show a little restraint in your eating the activity will get you in better shape without a major trauma.
Yup... do it. Get a taste of the cash and then decide
I want last at least 4 months or more so I can see my mom for 2 month or so. Lol 😂
Pretty simple job; I'm sure you'll do fine
Yeah I hope I don’t mess this up or let my nerves eat me up so that I never have a job ever again
I suspect if you stick with it, you'll probably advance pretty quickly. I think they have very high turnover
maybe part-time. i'd try that first so the commitment isn't more than you can handle. if you're successful in that then move to full time.
No. Well ok, yes if you love working shitloads of overtime!
Watch the John Oliver warehouse video on YouTube
Oooh I love John Oliver. Great show. Have you seen him with Jerry Seinfeld in 'In Cars Getting Coffee with Comedians'? Soooo good. It might be my very favourite episode.www.youtube.com/results
Are you in okay shape? If so I'm sure you can
