Unfortunately, it would be more difficult than you think. As @Straight_Shooter said; it's already been tried, but it just didn't take. One notable example would be our road signs. That may sound like a minor problem, but the US has almost 7 million kilometers of roads, all of which have speed limit signs. The cost & logistics of replacing those, alone, would be prohibitive. And that's only one relevant example. We're stuck in a sort of half and half system, currently. Some professions do use it, and some don't. Most people that own a decent collection of tools have both Imperial and Metric, because it's necessary.I agree that the Imperial system needs to go, but we're currently stuck with it.
They already do. In engineering and scientific fields, they use metric.
I know, specifically in those fields. Not all of America though. Too bad.
That’s true. Some people are adamant about change.
We are already running dual system anyways. You don't buy a wrench set without SAE and metric. Anything scientific is in metric and most products are labeled as both. Air and sea navigation uses/calculates both simultaneously, charts are labeled in both. Autos display both, GPS does either. Not sure, it makes any difference since I think we think in both anyways.
Nothing!!! They've talked anout it since I was a kid just not willing to change!!!
Most of there big international companies already have
Nothing, we are not giving up a superior method
Nothing... we already tried
We have? I'll have to look that up. I don't think it would be difficult or that could say something about U. S... no pun intended.
We tried in the 1970s. It was an abysmal failure.
Nothing that's just the way we do things
Americans, who are busy in dumb stuffs.
