In christianity, thats the story of the seven sleepers. It's the same myth just reimagined for the Quran. That isn't a fact, it is a fallacious, supernatural myth. Nobody with a full quota of rationality would think that really happened. If it did happen, it truly was a miracle.
Yeah, it's happened. And a mosque built on them. The Almighty also said they are protected by him until the day of judgment. You will understand very well if you read the Quran. The Bible may have some changes over time. On the other hand, the Quran is the same as 1400 years before. So give it a try.
The Quran was written after the Bible and after that story (which was originally a Greek story) was written. It demonstrates how a story gets corrupted as it is passed down the ages. The Quran version of the story loses some details and adds others. It's complete nonsense. That story is a myth. It isn't true history or anything. These stories were originally made up to entertain and subvert children into particular cultural beliefs.
Maybe written after the Bible. But it is the holy book by the same God who sent the Bible also. He claimed the Qur'an is the last and final version. We know your holy book and Jesus. What I learned from other Christian that you people believe in the almighty God and Jesus as the son of God. But in some verses of the Quran, the almighty says that there is no God but him and he is the one and only. He has no son, daughter, wife. Islam is the oldest religion. Because of the first messenger of Islam was Adom. you people know as Adam. We believe in almighty, and he knows everything. That's why he knows what's true or what's false. If he added something that means it's necessary for us. You have understood that it's not a storytelling book. So details are not important. And he described that story for believers to know that he protects his believers. What I know about our holy book is not a storytelling book or scientific research book. But it has many signs of science and story because of it's unique Scripture. I believe in my religion fully. Because whole in religion means human-made belief. You know our holy book is the same as it like 1400years before. But your's one is changing day by day and the fathers are updating it time by time. It isn't the proper place to talk about religion. And we need to things before the discussion. Because it is prohibited in my religion with proper religious knowledge.
First of all, I am not a christian. The indoctrination process was unsuccessful on me. I see religion for what it really is.Islam is by no means the oldest religion by any stretch of the imagination. It also is not true. It is for lack of a better term and I like this one anyway - total bullshit. The very fact it tells you that you are not allowed to question it is evidence enough that it is coercive dogma. Keep it far away from me.
Indoctrination! Heah. That's a good way to embrace someone. Why people so much care about Wining in any discussion! When they can't take any credit for that.Hey, I'm just talking about facts. Not to bully you. If you think so, it's your problem. Don't you question your self that why should I interfere in your beliefs?
You're not talking about facts.
So in that case, science would tell you a wider range of specifics hands down?
It’s not a competition, in my eyes they co-exist. They answer different questions. If I have a spiritual question I look to the Bible. If I have a scientific question I look online. The Bible answers a wide range of spiritual questions. Science answers questions about technology, biology, chemistry, and other man-made studies and fields.
I don't know if looking online is always the best way to find facts. It really depends on where online you look. Just going to the first few headlines if Google will give you a massive amount of disinformation.Neil deGrasse Tyson did a video about it.
@princesssnowflake, if it is a true religion or holy book than it has to cover all the topics related to creation. Science is just a way to justify creation. In the Muslim Qur'an, the Almighty inspired mankind to justify his creations. And also he reserved reword for them, who will do research.
The Bible says similar things. The short answer is that YHWH created all and it was mankind’s job to name and catalogue his creation. However, I don’t think science justifies creation. Since most scientists are anti-creationism and atheists themselves. Science is an objective way to understand and study the observable universes, and all that is in them. It has very little to do with your moral values and what deity you believe in. That’s just my point of view on it anyway.
@abutaher science doesn't really just do that. It tells you in fine detail, a wide variety of things about nature, to the inner workings of biology to the worst types of chemical disasters. It tells you what foods have the most energy, why some materials are heavier than others, why certain weather is more likely than others and why that weather occurs. It names different gasses and explains why we are able to breathe and what is happening inside our cells when we do. The Bible or the Quran doesn't say any of that.
@OfDeath That’s not the purpose of the Bible. Judeo-Christianity is an ideology, and the Bible is a spiritual book guide. It bears little relation to scientific literature. More so, when most of the book is spiritual, metaphorical and parabolic. Science is an objective way to methodically study *in detail* the observable universe and all that is in it; the physical realm. While the Bible, is a semi-accurate history book and moral guide that’s meant to solve emotional or spiritual qualms; the spiritual realm. “My kingdom is not of this world,” said Jesus. I don’t understand how you don’t get the difference. They are non-comparables because there are little to no parallels between science and theism. It’s like comparing a Mediterranean green salad to a steak. Other than the fact that they’re food (ideas) and they nourish you (teach you something), you won’t find much else.
Those described in the Qur'an. There is many more you can't imagine
@abutaher lol, no the Qur'an has nothing about genetics, DNA, viruses, or radiation. It's also too old, we only discovered those things recently. If the Qur'an did contain information on genetics, we would have known about genetics a thousand years ago!

Ok so your answer isn't clear. Let me ask you this way: imagine you meet two people. The first one is an astrophysicist who is also very knowledgeable in and has studied the other scientific disciplines. She is also a keen survivalist as a hobby. She enjoys spending every moment learning about nature. She can answer any question you ask her about the natural world and life with a detailed but straight answer. However, she has never heard of Jesus Christ, the Bible and doesn't know anything about Christianity. Person 2 is a guy who has spent his entire life being taught about the Bible and has a deep interest in the abrahamic religions. He has spoken with the world's elite clergymen and he knows all of the abrahamic religions off by heart. He knows both the good and the not so good of it including books which were excluded from the official word of God. He will give a detailed opinion from his knowledge of scripture to any questions you ask. However, he has never heard of any of the scientific disciplines or learned any survival skills.Which one of those people do you think knows more about the world?
What I'm saying is Jesus said you need both - Jesus was not a jobless bum when he was on earth - he worked construction for several years and after going into ministry he chose to die on the cross which is not what lazy people do with their lives - he also did not need to study because he could cure sick people just by lazying hands or touching them - and he did not need financial knowledge because he could randomly make golden coins appear out of nowhere or multiply bread and fish effortlessly at the sound of thought. A true Christian doesn't study theology all day unless its their job or profession which is acceptable - they go out in the real world and do things or have a way of getting money so they can study religion all day without being a leech to society.
Ok, we both know that is not an answer. I'm not asking what Jesus said. I am asking YOU if YOU believe you can find out more about the world by studying science or by studying the bible? And both is not an answer to the question. This question is one or the other. Not both. Hence the reason I gave you the examples I did in my previous reply.
Ok. So do you believe you can learn more about the world from science or from the Quran?
May be its must be seach but at least not against to science like bibble. You can't find anythink agains to science in quran. but quran not a science book like new and old testaments.
What about Muhammad splitting the moon in half? Not against science?
Is it wrighting in quran?
Of course not. It is a HADİS. In quran never wright muhammed splitted the moon...Hadis mean... which words or centences muslims believe muhammed said when he is living. But he banned to noted his own words and centences. After he died quran centences (Ayet-sure) gathering and make a book. But his own centences never notes than 200 later in özbekistan buhara city Buhari (I dont know his real name he called buhari) come to arap lands and gather more than 100.000 centences (hadis) and make a book. Also 2 centrues past. Becsuse of that some hadises are tru same of themmay be a few true and some of them are completely wrong. They are started a new trend in islam and also bigotry. A lot of arap culture and tradation mixed in islam. Head covering. press on women etc. Presented they are islamic rules to bleavers.
It is derived from the Quran, Surah Al-Qamar verses 54:1–2
