Looking at it as a puzzle is a good way to think about it.
Thank you :) And yes a puzzle book. :) but only after you understand it 😂
How did you study new material? What things helped you to learn it?
@Flower7 The secret that I found with math was: you need to have an understanding of everything in the past, because everything new will build on the past.Don't try to learn new things without understanding the past! Then the further you go in math, everything that you learned in the past will become easier and the answers will be more accurate. I guess I am a numbers guy and when I was in high school, calculators were not allowed!
This is helpful advice, thanks! And I feel sorry for you having to take tests with no calculator! I can't even imagine how tough that must have been.
@Flower7 We had to be able to show our work, or the answer would only get part credit.Learning how to use the calculator when I recently took some college courses was the hardest for me!
Lol, that's ironic that learning to use a calculator actually made things harder for you!
@Flower7 The fact that I don't really like electronics was more of the reason. Also, learning how to properly enter the problem in the calculator was a real headache for me.
Thank you for the MHO!Good Luck with your studies.

I mean algebra not arithmetic lmao oops
I agree that calculus is much worse than algebra. However, algebra was hard for me also when I first started doing it. But I got the hang of it after awhile.
Well it's like I always understood algebra cut and dry, when I got to calculus I thought I would understand it and still fail, I just realize it's something I'll never understand lol
I doubt that anybody uses Algebra for anything outside of school.
I never understood it most of the time either!
Worse thing is that most of the traditional math teachers are emotionless strict people
What were the ways that you learned new math material to get ready for the tests?
I read the material, went to every class, we had a study group in college you get help for either in the math dept or engineering dept, plus i listened to Mozart when I studied. The main thing is i just understand math very well i love it. Lol
I never knew that listening to classical music while studying actually helps. I've heard that before, but I always thought it was just a myth!
It worked for me. Music is mathetical.
I didn't know that, but it does make sense. I never did too well in music class either lol.
Really? I love music. I played the recorder, trombone and i was in my high school varsity choir. Im learning the piano now. Lol
I've always thought it would be fun to learn how to play the piano.
Me too. I cannot even do basic calculations
You're doing better than me because I hate it even WITH a calculator!
How did you learn how to do new problems? What helped you to get ready for the tests?
I dont know I just catch on fast show once or twice and I got it
Me too. It's awful.
