Is punctuation really that difficult?

I don't mean to be a grammar nazi, but is it really that difficult to add commas and periods as necessary when you're typing out a text or post?

  Oh gosh... I do. Lol. I have to read things 3 or 4 times a lot because no one uses a period at the end of a sentence.
