- 1.) The money you borrow from the government has to be paid back with interest. Just because you have money in the bank does not mean you have to spend it. Most people will never pay the loan back completely because they are on low pay, but if your a lawyer on good pay the sooner you pay it back the better for you. Interest is a bitch.
2.) During freshers week most people go crazy as they don’t know how to spend money and spend lots and lots of money. I spent £500 in my first two weeks and I immediately regretted it. So did a lot of people.
3.) Do go to freshers. You do not need to go to every freshers event, you won’t miss out on a lot. But do go.
4.) Sex is not a bad thing, but it is treated too much like a football match these days. It’s ok to have sex but try not to have one night stands. A lot of people do regret it later on.
5.) Make friends in your class and outside your class. University is about learning the world. You will have people from all over the world, make sure you try to learn to get on with people from around the world.
In my block we had a few people who came from Yorkshire and only made friends like themselves. While I made friends with people from London, but also Scotland wales etc. They were different personalities but I learnt to get along. I learnt more to develop people skills.
6.) You do not know it all!
Top degrees in good unis are always varied. Multiple disciplines will be present when learning. You cannot be good at everything. If you create a social circle that is supportive and collaborative to each other, they will help you and you will help them. Most (almost all tbh) people in my degree who did amazing did so because we worked in groups and shared knowledge and viewpoints. Even if your the smartest in the class, you won’t reach your potential if you work only alone.
7.) Do not piss of your lecturers, have a good relationship. They can be selective at who they help and what information they give. My lectures have gone out of their way to help me. One I still keep in touch to this day and I talk to him with high regard because he saved my ass so many times.
8.) Grading is subjective to the lecturer. Play the game and sometimes choose a supervisor or class where the tutor gives higher grades easier. I got a 76% in my thesis because my supervisor was scared, easily deserved more than 80%. I had a friend who got given 65%, but deserved more than me. He’s tutor hasn’t given a first class since he started teaching.1|10|0Is this still revelant? - Keep your eyes focused on your future career. Start to ask yourself about what types of jobs you would feel more comfortable in.
Also invest in buying a grammarly subscription and buying microsoft office outright.
Also find a good study group in each class and when possible, try to have conversations with your instructor. Not only have they been fun to have but they can also aid in helping you by seeing how you approach the learning process. If you are eager to learn and find some part of the material interesting, instructors will remember you and help you, if you continue that bond with them. Heck, me and my classmates were bums right outside our bio teachers office while she had office hours. It was the more adorable thing, we had our books open together and we would wait for question then simply pop our heads into the office 😂 we were like a fire hazard 😂1|00|0Is this still revelant? You are welcome! I wish you the best of luck! But if you are asking for advice, that already tells me you are in line to succeed and do extremely well in college

- The first advice I would give is work like a dog your first year and party in your third and fourth year - Your first year will be harder than all your later years because that is the year you learn essay techniques and advanced Microsoft and PowerPoint and video skills and social etiquette and psychological analysis and reading comprehension so do not party or waste time on dating - study and study and study - once you’ve mastered the skills for university you can relax and party in your upper years of school - Like one class in my first year of university was harder for me than 4 classes combined in my upper years of school cause I was new to University and had not yet familiarized myself with the academic patterns and functions of university - take care of your mental health and avoid junk food cause you will gain weight if you don’t - take advantage of every destress event the school offers and eat chicken salad for lunch and dinner. Do not sleep around and never tell an opposite gender friend about your problems cause the issue of dating or not dating will always be up in the air if you do. I did that and was not harassed by people I rejected and hurt by people who rejected me. Last of all make hard work a priority and do not associate with people who waste their time. They are not bad or evil or worthless but your time is too precious to spend with those who do not value their’s. Avoid judging or gossiping about others - you don’t know how many times they were abused or molested or beaten up so don’t play the fake righteous card and say bad things about strangers you know nothing about. Not saying you would but I know many who did that.1|10|0Is this still revelant?
- I disagree with what most others stated, focus on your studies, not social life. Yes, making connections is extremely important in life (when you are looking for work) but really, your peers aren't really going to help you there most likely.
Discipline yourself, read ahead, then the class is a review and you'll easily be able to ask to the questions you need clarification on. Don't procrastinate and leave everything until the last minute.
Make sure you know what direction you want to take in life beforehand, have a career goal in mind. If you are aimlessly taking classes, that is a bad sign. Take some time off and figure it out. If you know what you want to do for a career, research it and be realistic... does your personality really match that field? Be honest with yourself, search yourself deeply and know what you want. If you know what you want to do, now is the time to build contacts with people in that field. Find someone that works in that field and offer to take them to lunch so you can ask some questions. Something like that. Get to know AS MANY people in that field as you can.2|20|0Is this still revelant?

318- I’d probably say to have fun, don’t make everything about studying but know when to put your head down and study hard for important exams. Also, failing in classes can be fine, everyone needs to learn how to handle college and it’s a big adjustment. Another thing is that if you are applying to grad school, don’t see whether you are admitted or not as a test of whether you’re worthy or not. That shit is competitive.2|00|0
- Keep in mind that it will probably be harder than high school. (Unless you went to a really hard high school.) You have to "dig" more to learn the material, because everything that you need to know might not be covered in class. Study and learn the material well enough to teach it to someone else. That way you know you learned the material.1|00|0
- Lol thanks for asking this😂😂😂I start in September 2021😂😂

Relax. Take walks as often as possible. I stress t
.0|00|0 - Take notes on everything, fallow what your professor say, if you are unsure about anything ask a professor, be willing and try to so to them during their office hours, do as much extra credit as possible, find if your college or university has a mentoring program and enroll, there are a lot of things in college and when you get to that point you can tell it's not playtime anymore. What you do from here on out will have real consequences.1|00|0
- STUDY hard then party hard, but make sure to study hard. I'm quite sure the main reason you're going to college is so get a college/university degree, so other activities come second. Don't lose track of your greatest priority!1|00|0
- Don’t get too distracted by the dating scene and if you live in the dorms (or even if you don’t) find some private time to masturbate. Also college/university essays are much harder and more in depth than high school essays.1|00|0
- Study. It's okay to be free from mommy and daddy and want to experience the entire college thing. Just remember, your final score when you leave college is a culmination of your years there. Good bad or whatever, it will follow you through life.1|00|0
- This is what we told every potential newbie at our university 😏1|00|0

I remember I wanted to be a lawyer. Then I learned how much reading it takes. I’d rather be lazy.
In the UK you're either a barrister or a solicitor. I plan on becoming a barrister, who can act as both a prosecutor and defence attorney
Sounds weak. Like the government can change the laws on you when they feel like it.
It's not weak at all, I'd rather that over having laws that can't adapt to such a capricious society
But our founding fathers wrote the constitution knowing human nature. They wrote it in such a way that it can be change. In fact we have 17 new amendments in our constitution since the beginning of our government. We also just survived a coup attempt that proved how strong the foundation of our laws are.
UK has a long history of kings being overthrown. It wasn’t until America that brought peace and democracy to the world.
