Scary times.
They want to open schools saying it's safe but how many kids dying will make it all ok?

Scary times.
- Actually, only like one person in the entire US under 18 has died of Covid. Its extremely rare for young boys and girls that Covid is lethal to them. The push to keep schools closed was actually about keeping kids from spreading the disease among each other then taking it back home to their older family members who might be more susceptible.0|00|0Is this still revelant?
You are wrong there. been way more kids who have died from covid. 1 in so cal a week or so ago.
Numbers might've started going up in the last couple months. CDC stated only 1 death under 18 back in December. Regardless, the death count is so insignificant among the youth, its really not a concern. Covid is far more deadly than the flu for older adults and people with comorbidities, but for kids, it really is no more dangerous than the flu.

- What's the alternative? Keep things closed forever? Spend eternity hiding from a virus that, at your age, is less dangerous than chicken pox? Covid is exceptionally contagious, has a very low fatality rate, and has crossed multiple species lines already- how much damage has to be done before you admit it can't simply be waited out? How many deaths of despair will it take? How many suicides and overdoses? How many kids dying will make it all ok to assume that life can be put on hold?0|00|0Is this still revelant?

014- So... just how many kids have died from C-19? I don't mean those who were in a car accident or riding their bikes with COVID, I mean just from COVID only?
Open the schools and get the country back to work again. This lockdown shit is stupid beyond all measure.0|00|1 - Politicians don't see people, they see statistics.
It will take one of their kids or friends dying before they take notice and even then they may not do anything.0|00|0The local news ran a story from a major hospital here, a whole wing is for those long term covid patients that just can't recover. Kidney failure, heart/lung/brain problems. Sad that the major news outlets won't talk about it.
That was my story last year. The hospital wasn't sure I'd survive. The Long Covid ward was also Covid ICU because there wasn't enough space. I had kidney, heart and lungs shut down completely - CPR for over 2 hours to revive me, dialysis until my kidneys recovered and an extra 3 months in rehan while my lungs were recovering. All of the patients in the ward had similar stories. What does the statistics say? "Survived". No mention of residual impact, just "not dead, so obviously all better" BS from media and politicians.
That is what I've been hearing... I'm glad you are doing better... hope you recover 100%. Just sad that the media isn't talking about this... I understand fox and the other trump networks ignoring, but for all of them to just gloss over it... disgusting.
- This was a pretty rhetorical question, but generally speaking, the people dying are usually their grandparents who they take the virus home to. Either way, the government doesn't care, they're completely bullshit. We'd get farther with anarchy at this point with the political system we're working with.0|00|2
i think what i said was so correct you're just incapable of responding because you now know you are wrong
i'm right. the problem is not grandparents getting sick because they are the only at risk group and thus should be in 100% lockdown at all times anyways- Show All Show Less
@007kingifrit Bruv, you really fail to realise that some kids have to go home and take care of their parents and granparents. "not going around the kids" isn't an option Honey
and what % of kids is that? almost none of them. public policy making is always about leaving some group behind. its ok for those kids to still stay home
@007kingifrit When I was younger I had a proper plan. Keep myself naive, take advice from the man. But then I turned 17 and I saw in my head he was blowing up the world with a ballpoint pen. Then, I met a person, I think I fell in love, a certain kind of love that you can't find in drugs, then I fucked it up, needed alone time. I'm a 21st century liability
@007kingifrit Nope, I changed it to lyrics because I'm bored of listening idiots :)
so as expected you couldn't beat me in an argument and you ran away
open the schools, keep the old people locked away, don't send the kids who live with their grandparents back to school very simple@007kingifrit I just think its funny to let you live thinking something dumb XD
no you don't, the real answer is that gays like you are emotionally damaged and can't handle conflict. you're weak. you were wrong, you can't retract your words and you can't make a real argument. I guess getting molested as a child does that to fags eh?
@007kingifrit Aw.. you really tried to insult me, Honey gay isn't an insult to someone who IS gay XD
it is, that's why you kill yourselves so often. plus i was able to guess just because you argue like a bitch
@007kingifrit See you think you're being hurtful but you're weakening your argument by resorting to insults instead of staying calm and using logic :)
- Anonymous1 moyou're reading the wrong liberal news dude. California and New York now want to open everything back up, not just schools. It was only unsafe until the election was decided. Now that Trump is gone, there's no more need to shut everything down according to them. Try and keep up.0|10|0
@Jessie91331 you need to watch more informative news also, i recommend ben shaprio; his wife is a doctor =p
- The only people in danger of the virus are people over 70 and those with comorbidities. We can protect them without strangling the economy.0|00|0
That is absolutely not true and you should stop passing around that sort of misinformation. Right now the age group that seems to be dying from it most often is between 40 and 50. Also you are ignoring the fact that the virus damage is people's organs and even if they survive they don't live a decent life for very long afterward
@msc545 isn't it sad that those so locked into trump and his philosophy are still saying things that are known to be false. The damage to the body of younger people will not be noticed for awhile... but a 1 month lockdown, let this thing die, then we can get back to living. But that inbred mentality just won't let that happen.
Even still, I don’t remember taking measures this extreme back in the time when polio was around where you will be guaranteed to be paralyzed from the neck down and you would have to be connected to a huge machine to help you breathe.

Ok so why would you expect it to work on covid? If it spreads through the air, wouldn’t trapping people in with someone who *could* be sick be the last thing you want to do?
- I dunno but did you know globally in 2020 the amount of deaths add up to only aporx 0.3% of england living residents. This can be taken as a good point for both sides really.0|10|0
- Children don’t die of covid-19. They also aren’t spreaders of the disease. They need to be in school. We are passed time to open things up.0|10|0
Some kids die from it some kids don't die from it but they have organ impairment as a result of having it and all of them certainly can spread it
@msc545 More kids drown than die from covid. A study of in-person schools in NC found extremely-limited spread from students to teachers.
I'm not playing a semantics game with you. Can, doesn't equal often. A meteor CAN fly through the roof of your house and kill you.
The damage to students from being out of school far outweighs any spread to teachers or "organ impairment"- Show All Show Less

That's how I know that.@msc545 I wish more people had your intelligence. So many people want things the way they were before... well don't we all, but won't happen for a long time.
Yeah... look at the cdc study... a small rural school district, where the kids could be easily spread out. After school, back home to their farms or nice single family houses. yeah.. that's the real world.
Multitude of studies say they are not spreaders vs. 1 that does. We're supposed to follow consensus, right?
Joel, believe what you want, ignore the science, and unfortunately possibly suffer the consequences. I'm done arguing.
- All it will take is kids getting sick, and parents, who were the driving force behind reopening the schools, will be screaming to have them closed.0|10|0
- have you looked at the deaths by age? kids are not in danger, never were0|00|1
@BestOpinions2020 "i've seen the news" is not a sign of an infomred person. the news lies to you
the news takes the most sensational stories and makes them sound more common than they are.
the odds of a child dying are so low as to be mathematically irrelevant- Show All Show Less
@Random_1996 it can but its pretty rare if anyone dies of it its mostly adults though
- Kids don’t die from coronavirus0|21|1
- Show All Show Less
Yes, but please keep following the sound advise of trump and his people. After all, he did say after Nov. 3rd, you wouldn't hear anything about covid, it would just disappear. We see how well that prophecy was.
kids are not at risk from covid. so few have died its like a lightning strike. not a problem
more importantly you aren't at risk if you're under 70, as long as kids stay away from brandparents its fineYou mean except for the 15 year old in Ventura or the 9 year old in Texas, both died this last week... or the 9 kids, all under 7 years old that died today in Brazil... but other than that... right. and all the others... but they don't really count... stop watching fox news and get some real facts before you start spreading lies.
@Jessie91331 the 15 year old had a pre existing disease that made him vulnerable to covid
@Jessie91331 also the 9 year old had an underlying medical condition which was asthma, so do us all a favor and educate yourself before you start spreading rumors
- The answer is 72.6% obviously.0|00|0
- 10-15% of the population? 🤔0|00|0
- Jessie, you are cute but really dumb.0|10|0
