If you worked in a game development team, what skill would you want to have and work on?

I'm not sure what I wanted but I did gamedev in the 90s and was the lead engineer/programmer. Towards the mid-90s though, the emphasis became so much on 3D that simple sprites and tiles didn't cut it... and so I got all into understanding 3D graphics like projections, texturing, raytracing, scanline rasterization, etc, and I found the teams got so big working on these huge games that I felt like a cog in the wheel and lost interest. After that, I switched to VFX where I could play a huge role in the industry. But I miss gamedev... maybe the thing I miss most is not programming but design -- like thinking up cool ideas of what would make a game fun to play.

We have a game development project in my college every year. I worked in the project as a programmer. I don't really like computer games that much since I think they are kind of pointless so I am not sure if I want to do it again.

I'd love to try voice acting, but I know it's really tough to get into and not always rewarding.
