Is it okay to have no motivation with school?

- Doesn't matter. That high school degree is worthless anyway. All it's good for is working as a cashier at Walmart or flipping burgers at McDonalds for below minimum wages. Those subjects you study in school have no value beyond being revised in college/university into more detail.
That high school degree however is required to enroll into a college/university, so you can study 3-4 years your chosen field, which then grants you a bachelors degree (if you worked for it too that is). And THAT bachelors degree is quite literally your personal and official permission to work above minimum wages! No such permission = stay at being underpaid with minimum wages.
That's how it is.1|10|0Is this still revelant?

- Umm, hmm school... doesn't matter. I mean don't get me wrong it does if you have plans of higher education but in the big picture when you look at your whole life. School is an insignificant 12 years at the beginning of your life. Don't take what I'm saying the wrong way. PASS!! But remember to enjoy yourself.1|00|0Is this still revelant?
Yeah i get your point and that’s what I've been thinking too. What makes it all worse tho is that i have no ideas of what i wanna do in the future. I've been googling average pays and then calculating em into buying a house since i was like 13 and every year it seems more and more impossible to get a nice and happy life lmao so now im just sitting here thinking that maybe I should just drop out and do my best at having fun since i haven’t had many opportunities to even do that
You deffinatly should not drop out. Pass high school at least. Really there's not much I can say to help you. you'll have to figure things out for yourself. There's no right path. You don't need to buy a house if you don't want. As far as a career goes you should meet people and they'll give you connections to jobs to get you buy. There's nothing wrong with waitressing, they bring home money every day.

- Yeah. I would recommend it if tuition is involved though. If you don’t have good grades you should still do your work or else you might repeat or be kept longer in high school and repeat the same problem. Maybe ask your parents for some help so you can see someone. I remember I didn’t have much motivation because I wasn’t feeling challenged. One day I made a friend that kind of changed that. Maybe you’re missing a challenge?0|00|0Is this still revelant?

214- i think that's very normal. because in that age, you usually do not have the experience to determine, which and how much of what you have to learn will be usefull later in life.
it's understandably hard to get motivation to just learn all those things without even knowing what you need them for. maybe it helps with motivation, to consider what you're doing now a benchmark for your performance, that will determine, which opportunities you will have in your future.
i mean if you plan on going for higher education, your grades will determine which options you have... but realisticly, after higher education or after apprenticeship and job experience, your basic school grades don't matter at all anymore. consider school as your "ticket for your future". you will learn some things in vein. that's not avoidable. but the better you do, the higher class your "ticket" gets.
not sure of that helps... but that's all i can do.1|00|0 - Yes. I went through a phase that lasted for over two years where I didn't care that much at all about school. I was into girls, hanging out, working on trucks, and trying to make money. When I was a HS sophomore, I ditched school 15 times in a single month to go over to this older girl's house. I finally woke up late in that school year and realized that I wouldn't have any chance to go to a big college if I didn't start applying myself to my studies.0|00|0
- it happened to me at 14, i slacked in class, then started ditching class, started getting into fights, then selling drugs and it just went downhill from there, from personal experience, finish school, get your diploma, get a job, and make a good life for yourself because if you dont have a plan for your life then you'll struggle0|00|0
I started my first job when i was 16 and i was also going to school. I was just busy 24/7 with all of it and basically didn’t even get to focus on myself. Now I recently quit my job to focus more on myself and im already mentally so tired of having the ‘basic’ life and tbh id be more okay with struggling then having sum boring forever lasting routine of studying and then working 5 days a week to get so little money that I just struggle with living xd better to just forever struggle but have a bit more fun next to it
depends what type of struggle i guess, careful what you wish for tho cause shit can go south real quick, i think you are lucky in the position you are now, if i could id trade lives with you
- It does matter a lot.
But it's why you have lost your mojo.
Sometimes it comes down to relavence. If you are studying and you can not see the point , it is hard put the work in.
Try to find out what you want to do with life.
And see what need to follow that life.0|00|0 - its very normal, 48% of college graduates in america never use their degree to find work. but let's be clear normal doesn't mean good. It sounds like you are probably never going to really want a career in whatever you are studying. lots of women eventually admit that a career is not what they ever wanted and you might be on that path also. maybe start a family instead0|00|0
- It's normal but not good. I didn't had any motivation to study too. Thankfully I was able to get good grades because I am a bit smart but after school, I wasn't in mood to study in college and that made my grades drop. No matter what, you need good grades.0|00|0
- You didn't say what level education. That's almost inevitable in high school where very little relevant is taught but it shouldn't be the case in college which should allow much greater latitude in what you may study0|10|0
Well im currently dealing with two last years of high school and before i had good grades and i was basically at the top of my old school. Now it’s gotten so hard cuz im not like smart xd i am only smart when i study for many hours and then everything that i studied will be gone in like a day. Its probably because I've been starting questioning life a lot and just struggling with many stuff that I don’t have that same feeling that oh i wanna study for many hours so i could get sum stupid grade that really doesn’t even matter in the long run if you get what i mean
- High school will be over soon, do the best you can, you will have more and better opinions in the future if you have good grades0|00|0
- We all being there but do well go to college get good job you. Needs school0|00|0
- Anonymous16 dI went to a Bronx Science homework trust me it was hard and your burn out fast I switch school districts the motivation came roaring back0|00|0
- No. School is boring though. It's normal to question time to time whats the purpose of all this.0|10|0
