- Is it by the number of degrees they have?
- Is it about their worldly/ cultural knowledge?
- Is it about their common sense/ street smarts?
- Is it about their survival mode?
How do you measure intelligence?

I don't know. I even excelled at the most stereotypical measurement of it with IQ and was a former Mensa member. But I rubbed a bunch of members there the wrong way since I think there's a whole lot of amazing people beyond the stereotypically STEM type of nerds most of us were there. I think elite athletes are amazing and brilliant in their own way along with elite musicians, writers, artists, great public speakers, superb actors, etc. I even think a skilled hairdresser is brilliant. I don't know how to do what they do.
So I like the term, "competence" and "skill". That's at least way less ambiguous, and that's what I think we should respect more than someone's IQ score or GPA or degrees or whatnot.
I think even "physical strength" is sort of that way. There is pound-per-pound strength such as someone who has a world record for pull-ups vs. a strongman champion who can deadlift 1000+lbs. And they're not good at each other's activities. And there are Olympic sprinters like Usain Bolt who, in a race, will dash past them like the wind... or marathon runners who will make Usain Bolt look slow over such a long distance. It's so complicated as I see it, but I love the term, "competence" since that can make us appreciate all sorts of people and how they're "strong" or "smart" in their own ways.
Read Gardner's theory of multiple intelligence.
See he gives 7 dimensions of it. I would be skeptical if someone just checked your iq and said you were intelligent.
There is more to intelligence then most people think.
IQ test is just one example of it.
To be fair Gardner was not the first to think like that he just formulated it.
I am sure many people felt intelligence was broad even before his time
I believe there are different types of intelligence but the four main types I consider to be relevant are spiritual or moral intelligence, empathetic and sympathetic intelligence, cognitive and academic intelligence, and social and management intelligence. With spiritual intelligence - you understand divinity and kindness - with empathetic intelligence you understand feelings and motives - with cognitive intelligence, you understand accounting and science and with social intelligence you understand how to create music or art and how to deal with people in a way that will make them like you.

All of the above, plus how quick they are to understand a situation, and their depth of understanding issues, and their mental agility.
It is the ability to correctly answer questions.
Wisdom is more interesting, which is knowing what questions need to be answered.
I judge intellect by words and how they convey themselves. How they react to certain questions and why
It's about them being humble and knowing that they are always going to be learning no matter what comes their way.
For me it’s book and street smarts with common sense
The distance between life and death is measured by suffering
