How can people possibly have trouble focusing on the basics of something? Completely insane.
As a guy who's been there before, it's a literal rabbit hole. You think you know it, and by the time you realise it, you're past the critical point. Then it's time to make space for the next thing.
Well yes. But if you understand the basics the next thing becomes easier to learn.
The next item on the agenda is spending time on it, which is even harder than the first. If you don't practice math, down is the only way. It's always a combination of these three things that end a guy's math journey.
You have to spend extra time on the problems you already know the answer to.
Yep, agreed. Most people don't do this.

I’m changing my career to one that pays better.
Oh I see. So you're going back to school or you already have a degree in maths?
Most people are scared of numbers, I think that's why. The answer lies in psychology
I’m getting my degree in a field that uses math.
Using numbers is literally using logic.
Not all math is numbers by the way
Econ/business I assume? That's why you once posted the question about Sun Tzu? His book is taught in business schools Good for you, congratulations
That's true. I guess that fear has been ingrained in them by incompetent teachers in school etc.
Something like that yeah.
I agree with you Chef. I guess we live in an insane world
I'm only saying that because people dont care to learn math because they dont think its important. but learning math is learning how to think and use logic.
That's a very good point. I think it has to with the educational system also that doesn't prioritize teaching maths
*it also has to do
well how much burden can you place on the shoulders of teachers?
I'm not talking about teachers but those in charge of the educational system.. Governments, ministries etc.
Well that’s a more complicated, opened discussion.
