Homeschooling is better in my opinion. Doing it with my 4 year old right now and I love being the one teaching him everyday. Also did it for my older son but he goes to school now. Both homeschooling and real school are good options. Really I see no difference as long as the kid is prepared for adult life then why does it even matter? Just do what's best for the kids
I don't want you to take my asking this the wrong way, but did you know that it is widely accepted that kids have until the age of about 4 or 5 to learn social skills and if they don't get along with other kids by then they almost certainly never will?
Don't you think that at such a young age the social skills are more important?
What kind of importance do you put on social skill vs others? Do you think it matters?
I think it's 2022 and with all that happened with covid in the past 2 years that kids now a days lack social skills regardless of how they are schooled. Same with technology. They will lack the skills that we had had kids purely cause they prefer being online instead of interacting in person. School really isn't a factor in socializing. It's all the other things in our world today that are gonna cause issues.
That's fine but don't you think it's a little dismissive of at least talking about the intracacies of these topics? Also school isn't supposed to be for politics.
yeah, they're definitely worth talking about. And there are some schools that are great, but unfortunately a lot of them are just suer political and if u don't agree w/ the majority it's like putting a target on your back. I'm homeschooled yes, but I've also went to school.
Do you think there's something to be said for getting a little experience in both? Personally, it would be easier for me to accept homeschooling if there was at least some back and forth.
yess, I'm actually glad that I have experience w/ both cuz then I can make a more informed decision when I have my own kids. I lived in a pretty sketchy area in North Dakota when I did go to school and there was a lot of bullying and threats and just a bunch of crap. I mean, maybe there are some schools where there aren't that many problems, but from what I've heard from my friends who go to public, and even private, there's just a lot of corruption. As to the social part, for me that's the most controversial part of homeschooling. My parents are totally open to me going and meeting people at different things, but there are limits because u don't have a huge group of people that u see every day. As long as the parents make an effort tho, like homeschool co-ops and things like that, it's normally not that big of a problem. I feel like everyone, public and homeschoolers, are taught to think that the other is inferior, or wrong. I think that's a big problem, and it could be fixed if people were more open to both.
"Taxation is theft" is a bit of an oversimplification. Otherwise, I see nothing wrong with that board up top. The more evidence that can be shown, the better. The kids will be able to argue circles around their NPC peers. But they'll have to travel in groups. NPCs love to find the lone different-thinker, surround, and resort to playground bullying antics.
Parents need to raise their children. If that means sending them to public school where they may get indoctrinated so be it. If that means keeping them at home and possibly giving them a MUCH better education AND teaching them the values their family deems important, I'm all for it.
Personally, some of the home-schooled kids I have met are scary smart. I met what I thought was a 15-year-old girl that used perfect English grammar. I eventually asked her age. She was only 9.
I have worked in public schools for 12 years and public schools are a way for liberals to indoctrinate kids with lies and to promote hate, racism against Whites and Asians, hate against men, and to push a transgender/homosexual agenda to elementary age kids. It is disgusting how some employees in public schools behave.
"... I feel like it's becoming a way for people to indoctrinate their kids into a specific way of thinking."
No, that's what public school has become. That's why there are so many groomers outraged that they can no longer talk to 5 year olds about sex. Home schooling is the only way anymore.
Well I was homeschooled for 8 years, public schooling has definitely carried a bigger reputation of indoctrinating children... but the awkward/shy part is definitely true. My anxiety started soon after I was pulled from public school and I literally had 0 friends since then. But if it's done right homeschooling is better.
@Telekinetic-Potato " indoctrinate their kids into a specific way of thinking"
That's exactly what schools and universities are. They indoctrinate you to think what the rulers of the planet want. They don't teach you any truth that matters.
Once you awaken to the way the world really works you cannot unsee. Most people will never awaken. They'll live life blissfully unaware. I kind of envy them. I wish I was blissfully unaware.
You think it's becoming a way for people to indoctrinate their kids into a specific way of thinking? I hear public schools are starting to teach little kids about things like LGBT! If they’re any evidence of that kind of stuff being taught when I’m a father, my kids are getting homeschooled!
I do not agree with homeschooling mostly. Mainly for the lack of contact with other children, and the socialization aspect of it. Also, because a professional teacher is more likely to be a better teacher than a child's parents.
That would be an interesting change in the world. What if something in-between happened after that and kids started going to small schools like ones that are run by just a few teachers?
Some idiots seem to think that all home schoolers are right-wing loons who disparage science. The truth is that they are a diverse group who have all political and religious persuasions and all kinds of reasons for doing it.
I don't know anything about it, here we have a compulsory schooling but I did hear enough stories from America about parent's "home schooling" their child and then rather abuse them and shit.
I don't have kids but I love the idea of homeschooling. I been homeschooled as well as public school' private school. From my experience personally I did better being homeschooled or in private school than I ever did in public school.
Uh yeah, everyone should be able to raise their own kids with a specific brand of thinking. Those choosing homeschool are just sick of the public school's version of indoctrination. Stop projecting here.

I would rather teach my kids then have some random person who can be a pedophile or someone who doesn't accept the d*ck or vagina between their legs as cold, hard, truth

I think you might be into something here. Now that I think about it, there's a lot of weirdos in schools now
Having their faces buried in a "smart" phone seems a bigger barrier to social skills than homeschooling ever was or ever will be.
sry but i agree with everything on that white board.

A lot of teachers are quitting their jobs. I wouldn't be surprised if homeschooling will be a thing of the future with the way things are now a days.

Man if you think it's the homeschooled kids that are getting indoctrinated wait till you hear about public school kids.
I was homeschooled for years. I loved it. I’m not socially awkward or shy.
I don't know anything about it, here we have a compulsory schooling but I did hear enough stories from America about parent's "home schooling" their child and then rather abuse them and shit.
Very, very rare but gets a LOT of press, especially from those sources opposed to getting us away from the government schools.

I know a girl who’s home schooled and she’s really nice and not prejudiced at all. But she is sort of shy and socially awkward. So I’m not sure.
Yeah, I'm sure state indoctrination is better so they can become part of the herd of sheeple.
and you don't think that parents indoctrinate thier own children when they homeschool them? LMAO
Yeah because government indoctrination by a stranger is better than being indoctrinated by your own parent.
Uh yeah, everyone should be able to raise their own kids with a specific brand of thinking. Those choosing homeschool are just sick of the public school's version of indoctrination. Stop projecting here.
