Can I tell my boss I've had enough of doing my collegues bs?

Part of my job is reception, which I understand.

But when you keep covering for the same receptionist who is always sick and late starts to get on your nerves.

She came in at 10am on a Friday and is off away today.

Her message was like "Something bad happened to me over the weekend. You need to do my cover."

She is leaving for good in a few weeks.

The other receptionist is on leave and I'm scared she's going to do the same thing to me again when the other lady isn't here.

I'm just so fed up of her getting away with everything.

One lady came up to me this morning and was like, where is she today.

Can I say something needs to be done or I'm handing in my notice?

Different excuse with her every week and don't want to be here if the new person is the same.

Strike now. If they're gonna be understaffed ask for a raise to stay and then pull the "well if i have to train her then i want a raise for that". This is a golden opportunity!! Let us know!!!

I asked for a raise about a month ago but they said no. Then they told me to do her job when she leaves till the company figures out what they're doing. Like seriously!

If its just you until they find a replacement for her do some quick applying and interviewing this month if you can. You really do have the upper hand here

Aren’t you the one who said she has some sort of condition as well?

I don't think she does. I've got health issues though.

Oh okay, someone had a similar story but their coworker also has some sort of illness. Anyway, since she’s leaving in a few weeks I’d say to bide your time. I totally get your concerns, but unfortunately it sounds like it comes with the job and you may want to start looking for another that doesn’t have these issues. I’ve left a job that for the most part I really didn’t mind, but issues with certain coworkers made me dread even coming to work, and my mental health wasn’t worth a decent job. You may want to consider it that way as well.

If you don't have another job an ultimatum is not good. If you have another job, turn in notice and leave.
