Our receptionist is leaving and don't know when a replacement will take over.
In the next few weeks I will be:
Meeting and greeting clients, making drinks
Emptying 3 dishwashers
Topping up condiments
Clearing boxes of files and data entry
Scanning documents about 50 files I need to get through.
All while the other receptionist just stays at the reception desk.
Every day this company just gives me more and more work on top of what I already have.
I don't why they keep doing this.
I'm looking for another job asap.

Wow, that is a TON of work for them to dump on you! I'd be totally overwhelmed trying to do all that by myself.
It's not fair that they just keep piling more and more on without taking anything off your plate. And it's super lame that the other receptionist isn't helping out at all.
I'd be honest with your boss and lay it out clear - you're one person, not a whole team. Tell them everything you just listed that they expect you to do in the upcoming weeks on top of your normal duties.
Make it very clear there's no way you can physically get it all done alone during your shifts. They need to either give you some help from someone else or stop adding more jobs and just let you catch up.
Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself here. They might get mad in the moment but it's their own fault for overloading you. You gotta show them you won't let them take advantage.
Definitely keep looking for another gig so you have an out if they don't change things. No job is worth burning yourself out over crazy unfair demands like that. You got this, just don't be afraid to speak up!
Thank you.
Unfortunately my boss doesn't care either. It's the same "your job is reception cover"
I thought maybe I should get a temp job till I find something permanent but don't know how good that will look on my resume.
This is my first permanent job I've had. I've had it for 2 years.
My career history was always temping due to the other person always getting the job.
I'm not gonna stay till the end of the year now though. No way.
I'll probably just say. "Can't the other receptionist do the dishwashers since she starts at 7:30am not 8:30am as I have all these other things to do."
I'm going to send an email to the acting boss, since the other boss is still on bereavement leave.
Really doesn’t sound like that much…
