My take on The Lion King

My take on The Lion King

Sorry if I make this sound like a rant but hear me out. I love The Lion King. It's (in my opinion) the best movie that Disney had to offer. But I can't help but think that the idea is actually stolen. First of all, Ozamu Tezuka (the ideator of Astro Boy); whose many of masterpieces by his own word were inspired by Walt Disney, was the actual ideator. Kimba, the White Lion (Tezuka 2nd most popular novel) was actually stolen by Disney. Now hear me out: there are many similirities which a dawn opening with animals looking up to the sun, Kimba's babies raised up to the sky, an antagonistic dark furred lion, a warthog with an awful smell and much more. And also in the early depiction, Simba was supposed to be called Kimba and be white. That's my first take. The second one is the portrayal of hyenas. Hyenas are portrayed in the movie as unelegant scavengers (despite being the complete opposite). The third is the reboot. I honestly didn't like because I didn't feel the same spark and intensity of the original. The characters were completely inexpressive which made me confront it with the OG Lion King and the Chronicles of Narnia. And the latter, despite really lions don't express the way Aslan did, I like it much better because I can feel more emotions and can relate with the character. That's all I had to say.
