What are methods you could use to prepare for an opposite sex role in a theatre production (male playing a female role)?

OK. This has obviously been misunderstood and not taken seriously. To clarify, I am a recently graduated acting student who has been cast in an opposite gender role to expand my acting skills and perspective. I see it no differently than a role from another time or culture and cross gender acting has occurred going all the way back to the Greeks. However, it is obviously harder. Does anyone have any real serious advice for me on how to prep/make the most of this from any stand point?
