I can think of a few songs for different reasons.
First song would be the song Use Somebody by Kings of Leon. It isn't one my favorite songs by any means, but it was one of the first songs I learned on drums. Once I learned the song on drums (it was actually on new years day a couple years ago) it really motivated me to become better at drums and work hard. By learning it, it was like telling myself "I have improved since I started. My practice is paying off. I can do this if I keep working at it." If I didn't learn that song, there is a chance I may have given up on drums thinking I couldn't do it. Drums led me into other instruments and they have significantly impacted life.
Second song would be the song "Unholy Confessions" by Avenged Sevenfold. I do really like this song, but this isn't even one of my favorite songs. It has influenced me a lot because it really got me into metal and was a stepping stone for getting me into other bands and discovering new types of music I liked. It featured new sounds I had never really been exposed to before (screaming, heavy distortion, double bass on drums, etc.).
If you are looking for a more personal impact a song has made from lyrics and stuff, I'd probably pick Everlong. When I was younger, this song and its lyrics really inspired me. I guess it gave me hope for a brighter future and the hope kept me going on. Ok-- my inspiration there was cheesy, yeah... I know, but still, it is one of my favorite songs. Still is the most played song out of all my music lol
It is one of the few songs I know all the music parts for, including the lyrics and what not. I love this song.
Everlong is probably the one probably inspired me the most out of any song.
Here is the odd music video for it xD
