Is there a difference between movies and films?

Hey dudes!!

I was thinking recently about how people talk about different films. For example, you'd say that "Top Gun" and "Die Hard" are movies, but "Schindler's List" and "Titanic" are films.

Is this an actual thing, or have I just made it up?

  • I use movies and films as synonyms. But I guess some words is more common to use in certain dialects than others.
