What do you think of this poem I wrote?

In a world we once thought we knew
metamorphasis transforms
& proves
a process of proportions more
than just the caterpillars knew

The soul gestates within this shell, this form, a body we thank or hate
we shirk, make, or minimally skate
by with

What comes of us when we break out of this shell?
Do we fly like a phoenix, fluttered like a butterfly amidst tulips & roses
Or do we find ourselves within a more mothly few
Attributing value to the light we fly toward
almost trapped by the brightness
zapped by suns
which float in apathy
only the flowers smart enough to draw sustenance from them

The very pillars of reality
sticks for
a societies beaten drum
Indistrious in war, languages, Gods, memes, all seemingly
so dull
& dumb

& yet...
Why do I hum?

to send sound past these layers which house me from my final stage in evolution?

or to convery why its better not to hurry,
as neither state really yields freedom from the overall pattern of muse,
then glum?
