Is it wrong to call a born U. S. citizen, a foreigner?

We were doing a quiz about pop culture in class. There were questions ranging from 60's tv shows to present-day celebrities. This other girl worked with me and kept saying, "We[me and her] don't know this because we're foreigners." She wasn't born in America yet spoke English fluently as possible. And I was born here, but my parents are from East Asia. I don't think the term foreigner applies to me.
