Can “Dunkirk” win an oscar?

Christopher Nolan’s new film Dunkirk has an really interesting and beautiful aesthetic acheivments. He used different techniques in his film. His editing was different and affective. What do you think? Will it win an Oscar? Also it has two strong competitor. Shape of the Water and a film which called something billboard? Who can win? What is your idea?

  • It has some beautiful aspects but I believe it was a lost opportunity. And it shouldn't be called "Dunkirk" either because what he shows is anything but Dunkirk 1940.
As for the Oscars, this event has turned into a decadence for some years now and I can't care less who wins what. It's all about politics and their butthurt presidential election defeat two years ago.
